I'm the only one with high ping
It’s usually an issue with Tier 3 providers. You can always try a VPN to possibly get a different route to the servers.
Good luck.
No, you not only one, after last patch my ping is between 300 – 1000, and my normal ping is 200-300, and I am living in Sydney. Is VPN safe for gw2?
Same I’m in sydney and ping is 300-100 too, spiking to over 4000 during world boss fights which is unplayable. I’ve tried VPN but that just makes it worse for me, tried pingzapper too but was still getting around 300, with 1000 spike during world bosses. Its only started happening since a few days before the new living world episode was released

for pingzapper, try choose the country near you for best stability, choosing server near Anet Dallas giving best low latency but will have same lag problem. Also try enable “firewall mode” in the game profile.

300 ping is already good enough, for ppl in SEA/OCX it is >300-400+ms all the time.
too bad you need to use a 3rd party VPN to play the game. PingZapper and most VPN also has a monthly fee. the only decent free one i could fine is Windscribe.

Seems like a bad node right before hitting the game servers.
I made several tracert, and everything always goes bad past anything “gtt.com” and completely downhill past “cdnetworks-gw.ip4.gtt.net”.
It’s all max 10 ms… enter anything including the adress “gtt.com”. Bang! , all the way to 100-300ms, and by the time it hits “cdnetworks-gw.ip4.gtt.net”, it goes up to 700-5000ms.
Things has only gotten worse over the days and my ISP says it’s not on their side. They can’t do a thing.
All I can do is jumpr from map to map until I get to one with an IP with less than 200ms ping. For some reason it sometimes work, for a while, then it lags again.
Same. My ping suddenly jumped to above 4000 and now it won’t go lower at all. When I press a skill it doesn’t activate for a good 15-20 seconds. I’m watching things happen half a minute late. My usual ping is between 30 and 40.
Denmark here. I’ve been getting spikes like those which happend around GTT.net and NCSoft.com.
Tracert on the IP GW2 was connecting to in my Resource monitor:

Since 14-2-2017 patch i m having high ping aswell 2000-4000. Playing on EU servers. Normally my ping is around 30-50.
After last patch i too have extreme pingspikes.
Normally i got around 40-60 ping but today ive constantly been having 1000-4000 ping. Having almost 10 seconds skill lags is totally unplayable.
Please Arenanet, fix this.
I have the same problem. My ping goes between 1000 – 4000.
Normally my ping is 30 – 50. I’m from germany.
Same here. It happened for 5 minutes and then it was great again for me but it started happening for more people in my raid party.
Also, everything else, I reapeat, everything else worked fine while gw2 was the only thing lagging.

installed Windscribe looks fine right now
ty for the tip
Huge ping spikes and general high ping in the evening in the UK here.
Did you try swapping ports?
-clientport 80
Instructs the client to connect to the game servers over port 80 (HTTP) instead of 6112 (commonly used for games).
Some ISPs may prioritize traffic at certain times, and some networks may block port 6112. This may be useful to avoid such scenarios.
Some ISPs, networks, and other forms of MITM attacks may modify traffic on port 80 which will lead to issues with the GW2 client if this option is used.
-clientport 443
Instructs the client to connect to the game servers over port 443 (HTTPS) instead of 6112 (commonly used for games).
Some ISPs may prioritize traffic at certain times, and some networks may block port 6112. This may be useful to avoid such scenarios.
Some ISPs, networks, and other forms of MITM attacks may modify traffic on port 443 which will lead to issues with the GW2 client if this option is used (this is less-likely to occur than with port 80).

yes, same thing.
Got the problem again. Seems that it retuens randomly and lasts some time. Traceroute looks exactly like the one I posted above.
Ever since the last major patch & the little patches, my ping gets up to 1000+, I live in Kentucky, U.S.A.! I have never had this problem before except when Gw2 1st launched years ago! This is becoming annoying because I freeze & can still be attacked by NPC’s & other players or I just disconnect!
