I need original Guild Wars help!

Did your son try to activate his Serial Key in the Guild Wars client, after downloading said client?

If not done already, try submitting the serial key in the account settings on the guild wars 2 website.
I got an auto response from the support ticket, I just hoped someone might have an answer. I was hoping I was just doing it wrong but I don’t think so. I tried submitting the serial key on gw2 website but it just says it’s an invalid code.

No, you have to do it in the GW client. Do make sure your son uses a different email address than the one associated with his Guild Wars 2 account.
The CS Team will assist you once your ticket makes its way through the queue.

If u want the GW2 and GW1 accounts to be linked, for HoM points, the email addresses (login name) need be the same.
If u got a mention that the key is invalid, how sure r u that got a really valid code!?
Edit: maybe its bad timing, found other current topic here about an issue with GW1.

You can only link accounts after a Guild Wars account has been created. You can’t create a Guild Wars, or Guild Wars 2 account using an email address already in use. Thus, the two accounts, at creation, can NOT use the same email address.
I filed a support ticket requesting more information on how accounts are supposed to be linked now, assuming a GW2 account was created first. I can’t imagine that “file a support ticket” is the correct option for everyone who wants to try out the original game. Does anybody have any other official info?

Its not required to link accounts to play GW1.
Linking a GW1 and GW2 account is only required to use GW1 HoM related rewards in GW2.

Now you link your accounts via an option at the bottom of the Game Content section of the My Account page.
