Here’s the rundown:

For the last 2 days I’ve been experiencing extremely high pings (1000-2000 range) every so often. So little old me decided to finally tackle the problem but seem to have run into a wall. Any advice? I understand that I am experiencing lots of packet loss and the problem is somewhere between gw2 server and hop 5.

Same here. Unplayable ping since 2days ago. Today I got error code 42 so often, wondering if its ISP or server problem, coz wiki said its server traffic issue.

Best suggestion is to contact your ISP so they can contact Telia about the issue. Otherwise you can try a VPN (beware the free ones tend to have so many security issues) to see if it will try a different path and avoid the one causing you problems.

Also, the problem isn’t between hop 5 and the servers, the issue starts at hop 5, and it’s why the others are having issues. Hop 5 is the problem.

Lag at Telia .. reminds me at the “good” old days of Diablo 2 .. and how i laughed
when Blizzard said they will again work with Telia for WoW because of the
good experience they had with them

Having a VPN is always good in facts of lags, since often it lasts for some weeks
until the ISPs upgrade those nodes.

As others have said, you will either need to contact your ISP and forward the information you have, so they can help you, or use a VPN to tunnel around the bad network server.
