I think XL2720z is bigger than VG248QE, any other spec is the same.
Why should i buy that? :P
The only difference would be the 3D, are you ever going to use that?
The response times are negligible and tied to the refresh rate, however, if you get more than 60fps then a 60hz monitor isn’t being fully utilized.
If your options are just those two and you’re sticking with 1080p then I’d get the BenQ.
Comes down to, Budget and what other games you play,
If you only play GW2 or slower MMO’s the IPS screen will look amazing,
I got the Samsung S27B970D and it runs 2560×1440 and it looks amazing, my 680GTX along with this monitor completely blew up old monitor away, so much so that 2 of my friends went and bought it also lol.
get the IPS one. you’d barely notice a difference between 5ms and 1ms. if you really like 3d then go for the TN one but most people don’t bother with 3d.
Generally TN is better for gaming and IPS is better for content creation etc… where color accuracy is important. the difference in response time is mostly a gimmick and you certainly won’t notice it in a game like GW2.
Personally i’d go with the TN just for the 144hz but honestly you can’t go wrong with either one.
Thank for the answers people! I got a 780GTX OC, so its more likely 80+ FPS average. I have a TN monitor atm (2ms with 60 HZ), and im satisfied with the colors. I know that IPS panels have really cool colors, but i didnt see that much difference.
Im playing “Tribes: Ascend” as FPS game, and any other which gets intresting for me.
And i think i would like the 3D, but this is just a secondary options for me.
The main difference between IPS and TN is in the color quality. IPS’s are more brilliant/Vibrant then TN’s, Black and White levels are more true as well. And the viewing angles are greater (TN’s fade when you look at them from an Angle, IPS’s don’t)
All that being said, TN’s of today are much much better then TN’s of 2009~. And Honestly I would take a 1440 TN over a IPS today.

well at that price range, the color accuracy and vibrancy is not going to be significant to the budget e-ips panels. The main benefit at the lower end of the ips range is lack of color banding or any color shift due to the larger viewing angle. On a 24" screen it is not that big of a problem but the issues of a tn panel start to manifest themselves at 27" or larger.
At that price range, getting a 1440p TN will probably be better than getting a ips panel with lower 1080p resolution. Though you really will have to see for yourself if the color banding/shifting is bearable. I suggest buying from a retailer that has a good refund policy.
Couple of days ago I got Samsung u28d590d 4k monitor which has a TN panel, despite the bad reputation of TN panels I find it quite amazing. My gpu usage finally hit 100%.
