Just made a guide on how to improve the Mac Client’s fps. Hopefully this is the right place to share it! My fps went from an average of about 20 to an average of 30+.

i hate it when a quick fix works for everyone but me

i still get huge lag spikes. completely unplayable during pvp, even arenas.
and i have my graphic set to best perfomance with fps limited to 30 (if i set to unlimited the spikes get even worse) even tried lowering the resolution, improves fps but the spikes are helpless

I would be curious to know if this is actually working if it is just a placebo.
This is a setting that a whole lot of us actually found shortly after the mac beta was released. Changing that VRAM setting never actually did anything though, at least not anything noticeable. It’s also worth pointing out that there are two versions of that config file which exist in two different places. If it does do something now then that’s great!

Yeah, I second the skepticism here. I’ve actually seen a performance boost from the game over the last month without doing this change. I wonder how much of the observation is due to the game updates that have been improving the engine (I also still crash in the new beta maps but far less in bwe3 compared to bwe1… it still isn’t acceptable but at least it seems to be improving).
