Ingame Support request as Ticket
When you use the in-game report system, you’re able to choose only a few selected topics, and those reports are dealt with by specific team members who, as a rule, focus on those broader issues rather than issues that affect only a single player. So say you report an offensive name, or verbal abuse (offensive chat), or gold selling. Those are situations that can impact a lot of players.
On the other hand, if you’re having individual technical issues or problems related specifically to your account. In those cases you would use the ticket system to provide information about the situation and request individual help.
As you can see, there are really two kinds of issues, and therefore two ways of reporting.

I noticed none of my recent tickets show up on the new Support site. All are from 2 years ago, or more, and show very little of the discourse (only one entry each direction).

Oh, ok. Thought it might belong here, since the only tickets that show up are old Forum requests; nothing actually from the CS Team, now that you mention it.
It really doesn’t matter. If I update my recent ticket, it will only go to you, or one of your Team members. Lol.
