I’ve just bought Guild Wars 2 and when I attempt to run the gw2setup.exe it downloads about 10,000 Kb then the window disappears, it still shows up on my start bar and in the task manager but I don’t know if its actually downloading anything or just running idle.

You may need to disable or lower your firewall settings on your computer. It could also be a problem with your IP address.

I believe there is a sticky in the Tech support forums about things you can do to try and solve the problem.

You may want to download and run GameAdvisor. It can help narrow down where the problem is.

Best bet if you are having problems with downloading the client, however, would be to contact Tech Support and file a claim ticket.

Rubbish it’s not on their end and you know it!

Should I do all that BS when I haven’t changed my comp. since I installed last week where it installed fine?

It’s your choice whether you want to try to fix the issue so you can play the game or not. Or you can wait and hope tech support fixes it, but you may be waiting a while. All I have given are some suggestions for you to try. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. They’re only suggestions.

Update Windows and your graphics drivers. Make sure DirectX is up to date.
