Guild Wars 2

So, I’ve recently got my hard drive repaired, and thus, everything on my Mac was wiped away. I had a faint memory of hearing about a GW2 being available for Mac, and so I thought to my self: “Hey! No need to boot camp again!” – only to find out it’s a Beta and I might run into problems.

So my question’s pretty simple: Is it worth it, from all of your experience, or should I just boot camp my Mac again?

I’ve only ever played GW2 on Mac and I don’t have many problems with it. Most of my problems come from slow dorm wifi or accidentally closing down the game because my vent speak button is Cmd and Cmd+Q = quit. I win.

Hm, so you’re not playing it at all boot camped with windows? If that’s the case, maybe I’ll give it a try and download the Mac version.

I personally have very few issues with the Mac client. I started on boot camp, but got tired of switching once the Mac version came out. I play exclusively on Mac now.

Sadly, the Mac forums are no longer supported (at least until otherwise stated by Anet), but you can get by with just a few troubleshooting steps that fix most issues. I’ve posted them a ton lately.

All that being said, we have some bugs that haven’t been fixed, but they’re so minor, you’ll probably barely notice.

The mac version is based on a windows one, which is aleeady very bugged.The last time i tried the mac version it was so unstable in WvW that i went back to wibdows.

You can try, i play only on OS X. The client is better than the first relases, but the lack of public update and news about this beta is embarassing.
ArenaNet really are doing a crap job here.

I use mine for WvW and it works fine. There were some hiccups following the culling update, but it hasn’t been so bad. More of my problems came from connection issues caused by my router.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I primarily play GW2 for PvP, so hearing that WvW is buggy for some is a bit discouraging. But, you all pretty much seem to have no major problems. It is tempting too to not have to swap over to boot camp and be able to enjoy my beautiful OS X desktop! I think I’m gonna give it a try. You guys seem to help each other out here which is cool, so if I run into any issues I’ll search the forum. Thank again!
