Usually, if you have used the Gems, no refund is forthcoming, but you can always ‘Submit a Request’ to the CS Team and ask about current policy.

Just so you know, they actually cannot remove the character slot once it’s been applied. Since you did buy it, they most likely aren’t going to be able to remove it.
