Q:

… unallow a network for GW2 and then block it permanently so I have no way of accessing GW2 on that network?

If not, can you add this feature, please?

if I may ask...why would you want to do that? someone playing it too much? lol jk jk
but yes, there are wasys of doing it. you just have to tell the firewall to not allow access to the network from the game

Yeah… I’ve been playing a little too much. XD
Firewall? You mean Windows’s firewall?

If you do, it won’t allow me to block it from a specific network name.

*EDIT*

just uncheck Guild Wars 2 and that should tell the firewall to not allow access to the network!

Thank you, but… I was wondering if I could block a specific network name and IP address. Not just an entire set of networks.

that is all controled in your router, you’ll have to configure it correctlly. the best way to do it is to set the computer that you want GW2 to work on with a static IP address. the setup a deny all rule in your router with an exception of that static ip address.

Here’s the thing. I don’t have internet at home. I’m referring to using an unsecured network that I can access from my home.

In other words, I can’t access the router. If Guild Wars 2 cannot access this unsecured network, it would help me play a lot less.

Edit: I managed to do it! Sorta… it’s something I could remove, but it stops GW2 from running on that network. Since it’s unsecured, I went into the Advanced section of Windows Firewall, made a new outbound rule, and said that the gw2.exe could only run if the connection is secure.

I tried it and the splash screen says “connection errors Retrying.” So, I managed to figure how to block it myself. Yay!

Technically, tsmith helped me figure it out by saying to use Windows Firewall.

Edit2: That didn’t work, actually. It seems to block secure networks, too. :S I still need help!

Sorry for the double post, but I’ve been playing with the advanced settings with inbound and outbound rules to block gw2.exe from accessing that network.

Unfortunately, it’s not working.

I need to ask of the staff a favor. Can you go into my account and revert all the networks I’ve saved? I think it’s the only way to deny access to that one network.
