Is this computer any good
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Running_the_game
Short answer: Yes, obviously…
I have a GeForce 9600 gt with 512 MB, and it runs just fine. I get about 25-30 FPS with high settings in world areas and 10-15 FPS less in cities.
Sometimes your internet connection can cause graphic lag, so there’s that…
And bad drivers, etc…
Just don’t expect high framerates in cities, WvW or such… In any MMO, where’s a lot of players, there’s lag, and framerate drops…
Also, don’t blame me if something isn’t working as you expect, but all in all, that machine should run GW2 with no problems, and with a nice FPS at high settings…
Ok cheers mate
It should do ok. I probably would try for a GTX 660Ti at the least, if the option is available to you.

it will do ‘ok’. Though to be honest you REALLY should build ur own rig urself. Prebuilt rigs almost always have cut corners which can cause you hassle in the future.
Adittional they never seem to use the most optimal parts. the one u linked for example would be better of with a 660ti or 760, and the CPU shold be a K version. It doesnt say what motherboardi t has which means its likely a low end non OC ready board.
IF ur going to go prebuilt, get one from a place that fully lists the parts.
Aria.co.uk does great prebuilt systems. http://www.aria.co.uk/Systems/Gaming+Range/Intel+Gaming+PCs/GLADIATOR+Gaming+i5-Sabre+GTX+760+4.40GHz+Overclocked+4670K+Pro+PC+%2B+2+FREE+GAMES+?productId=56519

Another place is Overclockers.co.uk though they tend to be a tad expensive.
Both websites allow customization if u so desire, u just need to contact them.

What do you mean “ok”? I have an ancient GFX card which does “ok”…
That rig should do great!
I mean… I think, around 25-30 FPS is ok… maybe you think that’s crap and that 60 FPS is “ok”, but what’s great then? 120 fps which you can’t get to nicely show without a 1000$ monitor? Screen tearing will happen, and vsync will just drop your FPS to your monitor’s refresh rate which is around 60 for most monitors.
If it’s around 60 FPS, which he should be getting with that computer, that’s great in my book…
I do agree with custom built computers though… I built mine myself (minus the GFX card. I used my old one cause it was way out of my budget). You definitely get more out of your money if you just buy every individual piece yourself, but some people just don’t like to do that or know how to…
You can pretty much mess your configuration up if you don’t know what you are doing. Bottlenecking the system and all… Pre build computers are just a faster way to get there. :P
it will do ‘ok’.
No. Assuming none of the parts that go into that are crap, it will do GREAT.
The most mainstream build I hear of for this game is a GTX 660 TI, i5 3570K overclocked or not and 8 GB DDR3.
Handles the game fairly enough for a budget-high end system.
My old laptop from 3 years ago can run gw2. You’ll be fine.
If you want a hassle-free purchase, go get a pre-built PC from a reliable local/online PC retail shop that offers good aftersales service and warranties.
But if you want a cheaper alternative, there’s nothing better than building your own PC out of choosing the right parts for your right needs out of your own budget. And what’s better is that each components you buy has each of their own warranties, not only from the store but also from the respective manufacturers too.
By ‘ok’ i mean that, 1) this is GW2, nothing runs ‘great’ and 2) u cant OC, so u still wont be getting as much as u can out of GW2.
You could have a budget of £2000 or a budget of £800, the performance you get with GW2 will be the same asuming both have OC’d CPU’s.
However if u compare a £800 non OC’d rig vs a £800 OC’d rig, the OC’d rig will do better.
A i5 4570 in the rig linked, will likely not have a OC capable motherboard so it woudlnt even be able to get the 300 to 400mhz OC possible on the non K edition CPU’s. It also likely doesnt have good cpu cooler, and ofc its an i5, meaning in some situations it will get maxed out in GW2.
So ‘its ok’ is a perfectly legitimate statement
Dont get me wrong, im not saying its crap, no where near so. just that u could do better for very little extra investment.
‘Ok’ in GW2 WvW zerg s( 50v50 and higher atleast ) is 15-25 FPS
‘Great’ ( if u want to call it that ) is 20-35 fps
Not much difference, but its there.

Have to completely agree here.
If your going to go out and buy a new PC, do it right the first time. You can get a built rig like your doing, but know what is going into that system (get an itemized part list, and tell the builder where to stop cutting corners).
For the CPU, I suggest getting the best of class available right now. ESP if your main application IS guildwars2. An i5-4670K has a default clock of 3.2Ghz, but can be over clocked to 4.6Ghz pretty safely.
You want to make sure you get good ram. Low CasLatency (CL7 would be ideal for 1333Mhz), and Not value or ‘budget’ ram. you want good memory.
Make sure your PSU is 580W-650W to allow for future upgrades. I would even say look in the 800w if you plan on adding 4+ Hard disk drives, 2+ GPUs in SLI/CrossFire…ect. As they all draw power.
And look at synethic Graphic Benchmarks, and Realworld tests from results like 3dmarks2011 to help place what GPU you want to play with.
Now, I was running an AMD x4 PhenomII 830 (OC to 4.8Ghz) and a HD5770 to Play GW2 and It would be ‘OK’. Meaning 12-18FPS in WvW Zergs, 45-60FPS everywhere else (LA being the lowest). After upgrading my system to an Z87-g45 Motherboard + i5-4670K, and a HD7790, I get a solid 25FPS in WvW Zergs, 130FPS(210FPS Looking at water) out in the open PvE World, 55-65FPS in LA on a busy night…ect.
So really it comes down to what ‘OK’ Means for you. And in my books, if you are going to dump 700+ into a new system. Do it right from the ground up using the current GOOD poll of hardware you can choose from.

I haven’t tried it in WVW yet because I don’t do that, but my i7 based laptop with GTX 670MX actually runs GW2 pretty enjoyably well. So I’m sure that the i5 + GTX 660 TI combo will do just as good or better.
