Guild Wars 2

I have been playing GW2 since Beta and up until Christmas or just after had almost no problems playing the game. I keep my computer in top condition (defragging, removing junk, disabling unnecessary start-ups, etc). For the last 2 to 3 weeks I have been having problems: when playing in the open world I have no issues but once I get into a Dynamic Event or play in a dungeon or fractal I seem to get what I think is lag. What happens is: the game slows down for a few seconds, then suddenly speeds up and goes to normal then this repeats: slowing down, speeding up for a few seconds at a time. This happens when the games gets “busy” – lots of mobs, lots of spell effects, lots of players. Dropping the graphics quality down doesn’t seem to make a difference. Is this lag or something else and what can I do about it? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

my husband has been having this same problem recently. when he first started playing not so long ago everything was fine. now every time he gets into a big mass battle, be it a DE, a dungeon, or WvW, he will suddenly just stop moving for several seconds, then start moving again (usually dead by then)

is incredibly frustrating. he’s got a practically brand new computer… and i am NOT having the same issues with my 3 year old one right next to him, so it seems unlikely to be lag in our internet line

I also have this proble now since a couple of days back. I get horrible warps, ping drop and the occasional dc. Never had a problem before, in fact I was impressed at how absent latency issues have been. Now there’s issues galore and it’s just killing my will to play.

anyone have any info on this? video lag of some sort maybe? would really like to fix this problem if i can

Yes, I am having the same issue, and it got worse after F&F update. I was playing at my laptop a long time, no problems at all, and mid december I bought a new one and having it since then… I also have this sometimes on other games, but it’s the worse on GW2. It’s fixable, but you need luck, minimize GW2 and after a few seconds it is, or fixed for a few minutes, or it got worse, your PC might even freeze.
