I have recieved about 140 comfirmation of logging in Emails in the last 2 days.

This is obviously somone trying to hackh my account. But on the good side it means the location firewall thingie must work a bit.

I suggest that you bring out an authenticator, same as wow and swotor. These seem to have a marked result in stopping hackers.

On the side, the game is one week old, I have 1 level 15 char, what is the point of hacking anyway? or is it that these peeps are more interested in spoiling someone elses game than in the game itself

If you keep getting the emails it means that they KNOW YOUR PASSWORD. You should change it right away. Also, changing your account name isn’t a bad idea either.

yes change your email for gw and your password, from what ive gathered ont he forums it means they have your password.

Take care before changing your password. SOME people have in fact been banned because of suspicious behaviour when changing their password.

Personally i appreciate ArenaNet’s fairly strict policy, but then again i’ve never had any problems.

Is it not alarming how frequently it seems like this is happening? I ended up getting an authenticator for WoW awhile back, but in the previous years of playing WoW I never had an issue, but in the first week of GW2 people are getting “hacked”. I’m not saying I’m some magical person, I don’t do anything weird online and avoid anything that is even remotely suspicious, but have experienced the same issue of people in china trying to access my account. Anyway, change your password and hope for the best.

I hope GW2 rolls out authenticators. I would gladly pre-order and pay to offset production costs.

it seems they had my password on the first day cos I got a chnge of email request mail from arenanet.

I have changed my password to a totally random set of letters and numbers lets seee how long it takes then to get that.

I have a feeling this is an organised thing if not a breach in the server security.

the devs need to get on top of this cos it could turn a good game into a problem game.

You’re in the Account Issues forum. It will always sound like everyone is being compromised.

Just as a note, I hope you came to this website to change your password and you didn’t do it through an email you received. Those were phishing scams. I also think Anet has their password reset/change disabled right now. Hopefully you can open a ticket to get it changed and keep them from accessing your account at all.
