I just purchased the game a half hour ago, I received a copy of my receipt in my e-mail and from there I proceeded to make my account for the game. Upon doing so it prompted me to verify my account via e-mail. I have yet to receive an email at all, even having it sent multiple times to my account. I googled the issues and did all the “add xyz emails to your contact list” but still have not received anything.

I then tried to use SMS verification (which worked but still won’t let me log into the game) then tried the Authenticator App (which also worked but still won’t let me log into the game.) Finally I submitted a ticket but have had no response. (Not sure how long it usually takes, in other games if I encounter a problem usually their support is able to assist me in minutes.)

The error code when I attempt to log in to the game client is 11:1001:8008:186
Supposedly, the results I get on google tell me it’s a credentials issue but I’ve double, triple, and quadruple checked my email/password.

It’s been about 4 hours now and still nothing, not even an automated response yet.

Is this typical? If I haven’t received any help at the end of the day could someone instruct me on getting a refund? I’d love to play but it feels like I just tossed $30 out the window…

Sounds like your email provider is blocking the emails for some reason. Have you tried contacting the CS Team via a different provider? And, of course, checked junk/spam mail? There are also some Stickies above regarding the issue, but if you are not getting the automated responses, it sounds like blocking, for some reason. It is easy and free to create an email address using any number of providers. Only the CS Team can assist you with a refund.

I’ve checked the spam/junk folders (empty) and added the support@guildwars2.com
and noreply@guildwars2.com to my contacts list.

I have not been able to contact the CS team besides the ticket I submitted and this desperate forum post, are there other ways to contact them? I will try ANYTHING to at least get a response from them. I don’t want to get a refund but I feel like I don’t have a choice if I can’t get any help. At least a “We’ve received your ticket” response would at least provide me with peace of mind.

As stated above, try contacting them through a different email provider, as it seems your present one is blocking the mail. The CS Team always sends an almost-immediate automated response each time with an initial contact.

Security-wise, it is best to use an email that is only used for the game, anyway.

How do I contact them though? I don’t have their e-mail address, all I can find is the “Submit a Ticket” feature. I’ll make accounts on every e-mail provider if I have too, I just need their address.

EDIT: Figured out the problem and everything is working now, thank you for your patience and assistance.

You might consider posting what the problem was, so that others that have this issue will know a possible solution.

Glad it worked out.

(And one would create/update one’s ticket and provide the new email address to be contacted through – in answer to your query.)

Embarrassing as it is to admit…the problem was human error, me. Upon looking everything over I noticed my account email had a typo in it when I created it (thus explaining why I had a receipt for my purchase but not getting any verification emails.)

Important to note that making a new email to match the misspelled email and then re-sending the verification still won’t work however. So hopefully someone will head this warning from my failure.

Made a new account (Quintuple checked this time) and everything is working fine, in the process of attempting to get a refund for the 1st title purchased. (As it still doesn’t work)

TL;DR: I dun goofed.

It happens more often than one would surmise.

Just glad you got it all worked out. The CS Team should be able to help you with the refund, no problem (if purchased from ArenaNet, of course).
