Just got hacked. Got no authentication of anyone trying to log in ad for some reason i have a mobile authenticator tied to my account when i did not put one. all money is gone….. I’m so sad :/

Same thing happened to a friend of mine today between 7:00pm and 10:00pm pacific time. No email authentication was sent. He just logged in and found that his stuff was gone. VERY disturbing.

Did you send a ticket through support?

Same here, could not keep them out even after putting an authenticator on the account and removing their IP from the authorised list. Ticket raised, just hope their security team is better at customer service than Blizzard used to be

Check the mobile authenticator to make sure it’s your mobile phone that it’s attached to. Hackers apparently have been tying it to their own mobile phones.

Thanks for the suggestion. Seems ok now that support have initiated the reset. Sadly, both my bank and the guild’s had been raided in the meantime.

You can request an Account Restoration, that will restore your account to a previous snapshot, but will do nothing for your Guild items or resources. Good luck.

Thanks for that too. Now I just have a bit of explaining to do to my guildies…

I had once purchased gems and within the same week I was hacked, but they said it was my computer and not my account and they told me that they won’t restore.

Someone had somehow taken control of remote access and maliciously destroyed my account and characters.

I was visiting a website while being logged into the game but at tabbed. The website was a windows 8 help forum as the pc was new to me at the time.

I don’t believe they restore for man in the middle hacks who don’t take anything but just delete stuff..

yeah I remember now, they didn’t convert gems to gold and they just found out how do harm to that along with other programs and files, family photos on my pc. Horrible time for me that was.

CS will provide an Account Restoration for accounts that are proven to be accessed by unauthorized individuals that use means beyond your control. If you leave your computer unattended with the game running or password saved, and say, the little brother or roommate comes along and deletes or sells items, CS would not offer a Restoration.

I just got hacked last night from 2 am central to 10 am central. They stole and salvaged everything that wasn’t bound to my account. Its so depressing seeing my account like this. I don’t get how they are doing this!

Same thing just happened to me, I got the account back but I am waiting on a response from the support team about getting a rollback.. They stole everything on all my characters.

Same sad thing here. Got hacked this morning. All what can be stolen – is stolen. All characters naked, all was sold via BLTC. As well i lost unbounded Meteorlogicus crafted 2 days ago. Matts, laurels, minis – all. Also thief just broke ascended chests which cant be stolen & items, which can be sold. So yes.. im sad. Make a ticket – wait for respond. Same way – no e-mails with authorize log-in attempt no nothing.

I like GW2 and i will not stop only becouse some idiot hacker stole my stuff, but I still hope that gw2 support will return my stuff, becouse i was hacked first time on my account.

They do that once per account so you should be alright

Assume that you associated email account is also compromised and react accordingly.

If you got hacked and had email authentication, check if the hackers switched you to mobile authentication.

People have reported that all you need are acct name and password to switch from email to mobile authentication… thus if a hacker got your acct name and password, they don’t need to compromise your email account as well. They just set up mobile authentication (to their own cellphone!) and thus can log into the game.

Disclaimer: That’s not to say your email account wasn’t compromised, be careful!
