I’ve only started encountering this issue for the past hour or so, but it got worse once I went to Lion’s Arch and subsequent territories afterwards. The screen starts to lag and freeze. All action sounds stop occurring like the battle was over. My screen then goes black, like the game is minimizing and it’s changing resolution. After a couple seconds, it’s back up and running fine. The 7-8 seconds lost is enough for a battle to go terribly against me as my character is left helpless standing still until i’m back up. It doesn’t only happen in battles, as I said it got worse in Lion’s Arch.

I’ve been playing since Beta and have never encountered this issue until about 8:00PM-ish Eastern Time (UTC-05:00). Is this something others are having and I just have to wait for a patch? Perhaps it’s just a local thing and the next time I log on, the problem will be gone.

First things first, lets make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. What graphics card do you have and what operating system do you run on? With that information I can guide you to your proper driver.

Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Prosessor: Intel Core i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs)
Memory: 8192MB RAM

As for graphics card, I’m not sure. I know via dxdiag it gives me under display:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M

Does this help? The problem is still happening today.

Yup, here is the latest driver for your graphics card:

You’re in luck, the GTX 780 released today meaning that there is a new set up drivers today as well.

If the new driver doesn’t help and now that I know you’re on a laptop, we’ll check your CPU and GPU temperatures. If you don’t already have software that monitors these temperatures, I recommend using HWMonitor which can be found here:
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.22-setup.exe

Make sure to measure temperatures when running the game after a few minutes, especially during the times when bad things happen.

Unfortunately, no fix. I’ll figure something out. Thanks
