I put a post up about this before, but it didn’t get any responses before it was buried several pages back, so here I am again, as the problem persists.

This happens at any time during the game, where everything on the screen will just hang for a half second, then the graphics will speed up to catch up to the server.

Since I play a shortbow ranger, this is especially noticeable in combat, where I can see my character just stand there for a while, then all the sudden there’s a flash of numbers all grouped together above the target the server has had me firing at. This makes it especially difficult to position during combat, and dodge telegraphed attacks.

Is this a problem server-side, or should I be looking for problems with my internet connections?

Still continuing to have this problem. Any input would be nice…

Having the same problem: either freezing up to several seconds with a fast “playback” afterwards or an terminating error = 7.×.×.x.×. finally. Happens in all play-modes sPvP WvW and PVE. Anyway PvP is unplayable like this, because the frequency e.g. in sPvp is 50% of the matches. My account is on AbbadonsMouth (EU server). The same PC with same config, hardware etc. etc. has no network problems with GW1.

For me and for today the solution in one of the tech support threads worked: Add /clientport:80 to the command line of a GW2 desktop shortcut. The explanation is, that GW2 uses port ranges which are throttled by some ISPs because they think its file-transfer traffic

I tried this, but it didn’t fix the problem.

Anybody else having this problem? Or have a solution to test?

I entered WvW last night and this issue redoubled itself, adding rubberbanding to the mix as well.

Ive been having this issue since I bought the game, last night it occured to me that it only ever happens when none of my guildies / friends are online, therefore Im not on our voice server, Mumble, so I logged myself onto the voice server and lo and behold no lag spikes since then. No idea why it works but this is the first time Ive had no spikes whatsoever for an entire gaming session lasting 4+ hours.

The lag is getting worse. I’m starting to have rubberbanding issues out in the PvE world now, and even input lag when using abilities and trying to interact with items in the world.

I would really really appreciate it if a mod can chime in on this issue.
