Guild Wars 2

Hello. I am returning to GW2 after year or so hiatus. everything is great except for the lag spiking I’m having. It happens every 5 mins or so. I cant use any abilities, mobs stop moving and usually I wake up dead.

I have a brand new computer and wondering whether I need to open some ports or something as I dont remember having this problem last time I played.

I’m playing from Auckland, New Zealand (Yes I know I wont get the best ping from here but I dont think I should have lag problems like this)
Server: Crystal Desert

I have tested my internet on pingtest.net and got an A result. I also havent had an issues in other games Ive been playing recently.

I’m wondering if this has something to do with the new megaserver thing…

Any advice appreciated!

I’m having the same problems.

I tried to -repair the client. And cleaned my entire PC up. Checked my power settings and updated my drivers.

The game used to be ultra smooth, but now its smooth with random FPS drops. Rubberbands and lagg.

Update: Tonight I have played for several hours with only a couple of patches of lag worth noting. Compare this to the same time last night which was absolutely terrible and unplayable. What I did notice is there was far less people in the zone tonight then there was the night before. Server crowding issue?

don’t forget they are having many external ‘problems’ with that group attacking the servers lately. It happens multiple times a day now!

Very bad again tonight and was fine earlier today. Very frustrating as it’s when I have a decent chance to play. Any ideas?
