Q:
Laptop that could run GW2
Yes, but not very well.
Not very well would mean probably 30FPS on medium settings?
In what environment? PVE, WVW?
You don’t want anything with the Intel HD graphics, you need a dedicated gfx card for gaming (any real games, not FB games) on a laptop.
Integrated graphics are mediocre at best and not designed to run intensive games like this.
In WvW with a big zerg on either side, you’d be lucky to get 10 fps.
If you just want to pve and clear zones, then everything but the dragon event would probably be ok @ 20-30fps on low/med settings.
Low settings for any meaningfull FPS ..but dont count on being able to play WvW or large Dynamic Events.
My recommendation to people looking for a gaming laptop…be prepaird to spend a fair amount. If u can find one, get one with a desktop CPU, failing that get atleast a 3630QM (laptop CPU) or better. GPU wise try for a 650m at the minimum, preferably a 660m. Chances are however. .looking at the specs of that laptop ..ur price range is likely not in the region of gaming laptops.

I bought a laptop with GW2 in mind recently and it has worked out amazingly, ASUS K55V, it’s about 800 bucks, nowhere near as heavy/expensive as true ‘gaming laptops’ and runs really cool with a good battery, WvW and dungeons… couldn’t be happier, screen is the low point but works for me, and you can hdmi or vga it to a 1920×1080 screen at a hotel or w/e, highly recommended…

I Ran it on my Samsung Chronos intel core i73635qm gaming laptop. It ran pretty good, getting as high as 80 something fps at times in pve. However, when it came down to wvw and large group events like the shatterer it would lag something terrible.
Money is the question.
My notebook specs are i7 running overclocked to 4ghz, 6gb triple chan ram 1666, 460gtx(overclocked edition) sli and 128ssd with 500gb secondary hardrive
Its over two years old and aside from overheating after 12hr long use, its runs everything really well. farcry3/bio infinite/gw2/etc all at very high to ultra seeting.
Even alienware cant beat its performance. The only disadvantage is the size. The power supply is as big as a brick ! The laptop is almost 2 inches thick and makes for a good heater during winter
So if you want a Laptop portable desktop go here

My Asus G60JX from 2009 runs this game fine on Med-High settings. Average around 40 fps. My desktop crashes with this game cause of my XFX R7770 card, so I have to settle with my laptop, but surprisingly it’s pretty good.

Fuzzion ..is that one of their laptops that runs a desktop CPU ? ..if so then yea, they r good for gaming , the CPU’s dont down clock with more corse in use, unlike mobile/laptop CPU’s which will only run at their max turbo frequency with 1 core, as more corse are used that frequency drops. Hence why ‘most’ laptops wont be good for GW2 WvW.

Hahah yes. The battery only lasts 17 minutes. Not even really sure why they bother with the battery.
Also if you play games in the library, all 3 fans blow and sound like a vacuum cleaner. Carrying it around is stupid because the full weight is close to 22 pounds with bag and all.
here is the power supply
