4. Description: Nine times out of ten I will enter the game, attempt a skill, and then get indefinite skill lag and frozen players until I’m error coded out within a minute. Occasionally I will be able to play fine but after a period of up to half an hour I will get error coded back to character select? I took this up with ticket support and we managed to narrow it down to packet loss, ever since I’ve been trying to find where the loss is occurring but can’t isolate it at all!

Such savings, very Ogden, wow!

4. Description: At random times , no matter where I am, I lag and after a bit I m thrown back to characters selection screen after getting error code 7:11:3:191:101. Sometimes I am able to play an hour without problem, others I get dced 4 times within 10 minutes. Game is really unplayable like this, prior to update I never had this specific problem.

4. Description: Almost every evening I have lag problems, doesn’t matter what map. Today it was in PvP, on Friday it was WvW, a few days earlier it was a PvE zone. I get disconnected a lot during that time. Later (past 22:00 CEST) it seems to get better.

Today though I also got FPS issues. Might be unrelated, but I could play all day with high FPS and no lag. Made a break and came online later in the evening. I select a char and immediately enter Heart of the Mists. No lag. First PvP match starts and I have terrible lag spikes, Im talking easily 8-10 seconds here (usually that’s when I get disconnected but not today). Back to lobby, works fine again. Next match was ok, only small lag spikes. Third game absolutely horrible again. Got disconnected mid game. Big lag spikes. Unplayable. PvP lobby fine again. I get out of the lobby back to rata sum, all of a sudden my FPS drop by the second. Like a countdown I could see my FPS drop to 8. Changed to a different char on a different map: ~50 FPS again. Back to my pvp char in rata sum and I have ~35 FPS but again they are going down fast. I try to change the map and it takes 70 seconds to load. My FPS are still low, then for a second they go up to 30 FPS and all of a sudden I’m in char select screen o.O

That never happened before. Might be a problem with the latest Nvidia driver. GW2 is the only game that had this happen though. It should have nothing to do with the current lag problem, but I thought I mention it.

I was doing fractals with my warrior, when I got disconnected after lagging out around 23:00, from there on, I continue to get disconnected over and over after periods of extreme skill lag. Watching friends do the fractal I was getting maybe one update every ten seconds.

Not the first time it’s happened, been happening every night around the same time. I also keep getting login errors when I try to reconnect.

Latency started building up greatly as soon as people attack Tequatl. As soon as the battery event started, the game will not acknowledge that I hit anything. More latency build up (over 80 seconds) and I ran from the event to a far distance, only to get hit by something invisible a minute later, I got downed and died. The revive button would not work. At the end I only ended up with two chests from the Tequatl event.

Game World: Fort Aspenwood (mostly playing WvW, but also noticable in PvE and sPvP)

Brief description of what you’re seeing:

Frequent rubberbanding / warping of other players and NPC

spell and effect delay: between ~0.2 and sometimes up to 20 seconds, sometimes skills won’t activate

async animations + effects: damage or effects are applied prematurely compared to the animation state

I was able to play from about 4pm – 12pm Pacific time and it was great. Skills behaving as normal, no lag or anything.

Then now at like 2AM-4AM it is back to lagging like a mofo.

So US afternoon/evening is fine. US Night time is terrible.

Waited half an hour for Teq to start. Started a party of 5. Once Teq landed lag kicked in. During 2nd megalaser phase booted from world. Couldn’t get back to party as the world full. Got back after event had finished.

- Randomly getting lag spikes. While getting this lag spike I can still run around the game but the skills don’t work and every character runs into walls. After a few seconds the game catches up. If I’m lucky I’m dead if I’m not lucky I get disconnected. It usually happens to at least 1 or more persons in my party at the same time.

This is something that started happening since the last patch.

I am having some severe lag today. 2-20 seconds on skill activation.

I have lag spikes. Activating a skill or trying to interact and it will hang for a couple of seconds. Sometimes it disconnects too.

Skill lag for 0.5 to 1 second, jumpy when doing RTL (ele) – I’ll appear in one place then suddenly another. Makes the fast paced ele unplayable. Like playing through treacle. Seems to happen since patch (though can’t say for sure, been a busy lately so playing has been sporadic).
I hope you can solve this, it really spoils the game.
Had a few instances of disconnecting too, but unfortunately I’ve not kept a record.

Brief description of what you’re seeing: I have a “stable” 2s delay on everything: skills, chat, salvaging, TP, anything.

Ride The lightning has become an anti-travelling skill since I get teleported back to my starting position like 3-4 times. Sometimes things just stop moving, like they are on standby, and then everything is sped up and I usually get downed twice in that time window without understanding what the flying kitten is going on.

This has been happening since the new patch got released. At first it was less serious, now it’s just any time of the day. Sometimes I get error messages on the TP like timeout errors, login errors and what not. Everything was fine pre-patch and I haven’t changed anything on my side.

I even ran a speedtest to frankfurt servers (where EU server is hosted) and I have 53ms ping:

PS:
Why the kitten the bb code doesn’t work with pics? I disabled kitten textile.

Description:
Got disconnected from Edge of the Mist like a lot of other people at the same time (upon relogin I got to the same EotM-overflow and people were complaining that they just got disconnected).


The routing or the servers must be seriously broken as pretty much everybody i know gets a lot of DCs lately and if you just look at what people from all over europe are writing in the EotM-chat it becomes very clear that it can’t be an issue with local providers or the players as very often huge groups of people from different countries get disconnected at exactly the same moment. Its really “funny” to read in the chat that some people could see 30-50 people run off the map because of lag/DC while they hadn’t got any problems.

I am a Giuld WvW commander, and these recent laggs and disconnected, have completely immobilized our server in playing the WvW tournament. It’s unplayable and we are loosing big time thanks to it :/

To add to that, we registered for the DnT Dungeon Speedclear tournament which is this Saturday. And when we’re practicing we have a lot of skill delays, some members from the team get DC from the game randomly (but they still are on TeamSpeak). Having that lag is very frustrating for us.

Playing fine for an hour or so with other people complaining about the lag through Cursed shore on events. Got to doing melandru, Got to the top platform and the first bunch of risen raptors (or whatever they are) spawned then it just stopped, Everyone kept running around into walls and off the platforms while my rapid fire just kept going and going. Thought it would start up again as everything started moving, but no I got disconnected after about a minute of rapid fire and watching people run into the walls like mental cases. It took me 5 minutes to get back in and when I eventually got back in there was 3 seconds left to go so I missed out on the whole event.

I was in a party while a large group started to attack the possessed Statue of Dwayna. The statue’s HP was going unusually slow while I was attacking it. And then more than a minute later, my party told me that the Statue of Dwayna is now dead, while the statue was still up on my screen with 95% HP.

So… not wanting to wait for a chest to appear in my de-synchronized instance, I promptly switched character and reconnected to the same map to skip all that massive “queued data” the server is holding for my game client, and looted the giant chest on the altar.

Because it works…

1. Does the lag only happen while you’re in a PvP map? Does it also occur in the PvP lobby? Other maps?

So far today, this has only happened in pvp map. I briefly played wvw and did not have a problem. The game crashed a couple times while waiting for a rated match. I could tell when it was going to crash when I clicked the join game button and nothing happened or if I clicked a skill. When I joined a game it was worse, crashed at the start of 1 match then got black screen. When I rebooted the game it brought me back to my match and then lagged and crashed again, when I made it back again the game was almost over. For the next few matches it was also lag and at least 1 crash.

2.How long does the lag spike last? Does it ever clear up?

The lag spikes were mostly short 30-40 second bursts, long enough to die in a skirmish. It stopped briefly only to act back up again. It only cleared up when I left PvP all together.

3.Of your last 5 GW2 play sessions, in how many of them did you experience lag?

None.

4.Are there specific times of day when do or you don’t experience lag?

I usually do not experience any lag that is noticeable or detrimental.

5.When do you remember first experiencing lag of this severity in GW2?

Earlier this summer with the server crashes that lasted the afternoon.

During the final event with Modniir Ulgoth and the champions, we killed 1 Champion War Beast while 2 are still up on my screen. I got a report from my party that Ulgoth is now dead. Several seconds later I got disconnected. Upon reconnect I did not get the chest on the same map instance.

Reason being was because this map was only giving me 8 KB/sec instead of over 40 KB/sec required to sustain the data from the massive groups.

Brief description of what you’re seeing – Rubberbanding, skill lag, running into a wall and dc’ing every 5 to ten minutes every evening when I’m trying to play in wvw. Sometimes when trying to craft in LA I will dc there too.

for all that time I had incredible lags and any action delays at any world boss (actually tried to kill Shatterer – got dc after like 1 minute lag, also tried Golem mark 2 and Fire ele – and got same result)
I thought it depends on how much ppl are fighting the world boss at this map at one moment, but no. At fire ele we were like 3 man and we had a “Volunteer to another map” message so map was almost empty. Still I got like 20 seconds lags on Fire ele pre-event and after – disconnect.

Also there are some lags in dungeons, I noticed that in Arah and CoF. Sometimes Arah is completely unplayable, cause ur enemy moves and attacks normally (!) but mycharacter can’t do anything (like dodge/block/etc) – I hit any skill button and just nothing happens.

All those things become pretty annoying…

Today during Tequatl (Sparkfly Fen) people on the server experienced severe latency issues. It started as a very noticeable skill lag (~5 seconds to use skill, had to spam the button for it to go through). When Tequatl spawned it took around 20 seconds more than usual for the encounter to begin at all. During phase one casting anything took at least 30 seconds. Tequatl attacks had a severe delay (ex. fingers spawning way after the animation finished). After progressing to the defence phase Tequatl remained in position for some time before flying away. The defence phase event timer was desynchronised with the actual event. Defence events have finished over a minute after the timer has reached zero. There was a severe delay with event mechanics (especially mobs spawns). After landing Tequatl took a significant amount of time before going into stun phase and remained idle after the stun phase finished.The rest of the encounter continued in the same manner on each defence and stun phase.

As you can see, a very different path is being taken, so my uneducated guess is that there are probably no problems with the intermediate hops.

Wednesday, during Tequatil run (12:50 – 13:50 GMT +0 time)

Doing the world boss Tequatil with TxS (which happens too be a guild that does this daily) on Splintered Coast map with ip .68

The tequatil run, even with coordinate people using Teamspeak, was a experience that I pray too God I will never EVER EVER again have on this game. Incredible big latency, “defend the battery” event took us like 5 minutes in real life instead of the usual 2 minutes of defence, general madness, people getting destroyed left and right due too the big latencies. It was a entire map lagging, not just some people.

I hope you can somehow sort of this mess

Huge Lag spikes on WvW during prime time. so much so that every 10 min not just me but multiple players will all DC at once or catch up with the game over a 10sec period.
please fix in order to keep my attention on GW2. Game is becoming irritating and have slowed down playing and if the problem persist unfortunately will stop recommending the game to the people i know as i no longer want to carry on playing.
hope this problem is rectified soon so that i can carry on playing the best MMO game in my opinion.

Seems like in the end it affects really few players (including me, sadly).
I thought based on map chats on various maps that it was a very wide problem (each time i disconnected > if i can come back on the same map, i see several players in map channel saying they have too been disconnected).

But based on this thread, it’s maybe a very limited population.

ANet should really add in the launcher a a “disconnection detection mechanism” : once someone get disconnected, the launcher collects a few information (IP, traceroute, ISP providers, and so on) and sends them to ANet (exactly like for game crashes) (maybe with player approval, even if i don’t care). That way ANet could easily collect informations about those disconnections.

Massive, massive lagspikes during world events.

Basically, any world events where a zerg shows up, which is every single one of them, becomes unplayable. There’s not even a problem otherwise, but when the events start, the lag is HUGE. So, I get the experience of helping host a Teq event but none of the rewards…

Before anyone asks, it isn’t my CPU/GPU either, 60 fps with all graphics turned to lowest.

What I’m seeing: I start to have skill lag, then I can’t see where people are/people run off into the distance, after around five minutes of this, I disconnected from the server. This seems to primarily happen in WvW and has happened for the last two weeks. My flatmate was unaffected and then suddenly dc’d at the same time as I did. Our internet didn’t drop and we were getting 37MB dl/17mb UL.

ISP: Plus net.

You’re kidding right? You say this because everyone that plays GW2 posts in the forums? Go off what you see in game not what’s here, Not everyone visits the forums.
