Hello.
So it’s been a few days since I’ve been home and have played GW2, so I launched it up tonight to put some time into it. To my disappointment, the game launcher said that there was a connection error, and it was “Retrying…”. Well, it stayed like that for over 30 minutes, so I deciding to bite the bullet and reinstall GW2 since I couldn’t find anything about it online. That being said, I now can’t even install GW2 again because the installer is telling me to check my internet connection. My internet hasn’t changed since I last played GW2 a few days ago, and it is certainly still working because I just got done playing other games today, and I’m using the same computer and network right now to type this.
What can I do to remedy this situation?

I tried forwarding all the ports mentioned on the Support Page, still nothing.
No matter what I do the ‘launcher/installer’ won’t connect to the internet. There’s nothing wrong with my internet though, I tried resetting it and everything. Every other game works fine, and nothing changed since a few days ago to cause this issue now. I can’t even re-install GW2 until it’s fixed, let alone play it.

I’ve been getting something similar. I can play the game, early in the day with few issues. Around 4pm Eastern time, NA, I get error 7, and then the client crashes. After that, it won’t let me log in, saying there was an error with my internet connection. I then have to fight it for the next 20 mins, to get the character screen, this usually ends with me loading a character only to get error 7 once more.
Very frustrating. :S

That’s more than me though. Like I couldn’t even open the launcher, the first thing it would say is check internet connection or whatever. I uninstalled and now the installer is saying the same thing, so I can’t even install the game now.
However, I can ping the download servers without any problems.

Open your command prompt (CMD in search bar)
Then use these two commands Hit enter after each command, some explanatory text will pop up
ipconfig /flushdns
(Flushes your dns cache to clear any existing data which may be blocking new connectiosn)
ipconfig /renew
(Renews your connection allowing your dns to grab again)

Didn’t do anything for me.
Problem still persisting, I can’t even install the game. I’m about to demand a refund.

I just bought the game and have been having this exact same issue of not being able to get past the login screen. I have tried all of the solutions that I have found pertaining to this issue as well. Quite frankly, I’m pretty annoyed at the fact I’ve purchased a game and am not able to play it right away.

What do you mean by not get past the login screen?
Because I can’t even INSTALL the game, at this point. This is what my installer looks like

I have no idea if this will help but i get the same problem if i try to play from behind my VPN, i have to disable it to get the launcher to connect.
Rather annoying for me, could possibly be your problem!

I have the same problem. Stopped playing for a couple of months, then yesterday tried to play again and I was being disconnected all the time receiving error 7. Today I still received the error but my screen turned black and I had to restart the game. And finally now I can’t even open the launcher because I receive this “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” I have disabled my firewall and anti virus but it doesn’t work at all.

I to have encountered this problem. I recently rebooted my pc, and now i got all up and working on it, everything with drivers , connections and programs are fine, but when i start up the gw2 launcher to start downloading and install the game, it simply says ‘Download failed! Please check your internet connection and try again.’
Have anyone found a solution to this problem?
