Hello,

I updated the game yesterday and it ran just fine .. however a few hours later when I start the launcher its updates and says “Remaining Files : 2” and when it reaches 130 MB I get the error you will find attached in a txt file.

The overall progress stays on 0% and the launcher doesn’t freeze. all what happens is that the download speed goes down to 0 kbps and the error pops up.

I tried repairing the client for what its worth and same thing happens ! 15 mins into the repairing process the same error pops up.

So ….. when will this be fixed ?

“Fatal Error: Fatal disk-error (997: Overlapped I/O operation is in progress.) on write”

That’s your issue and it has nothing to do with GW2. It’s a Windows error that you’ll need to troubleshoot.

Thank you for the reply. I tried the fix but it didn’t work and looking at the forum it looks like I’m not the only one having issues with the magical 2 files ..

Sometimes the error pops up at like 110 mb and the launcher keeps updating until exactly 130 then the speed drops to 0 and thats it ..
