Q:
I am playing GW2 on my laptop with WXP without problem. I installed it on my desktop with W8, and the installation process ended ok. But when I start the game, the launcher tries to update, but it freezes at 0 / 0 KB and never moves.
My desktop is a Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 2.00GHz, 2 GB RAM, W8 32 bits x64.
I tried everything I found on the forums (download it again, checked for firewall, checked for antivirus, run as Admin, run ir renaming the file Gw2.tmp, and so on), but unsuccessfully.
I undo those changes, and then I ran NCSoft Game Advisor, and got the attached txt file.
What can I do to play the game?
A:
Hi Morbridae – The installation will not complete due to the fact that your graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements and your CPU is borderline. You’ll want to make sure that you are playing on a system that meets all of the minimum requirements in order to successfully install the game.
One week after, and still waiting for some help on this.
Try running the game with the “-repair” option. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments
Also, try changing your language settings and then change it back. I heard this sometimes clears up the problem.
“-repair”: Tried it, and didn’t work…
Languages: I can’t pass the starting screen. I can change languages there?
Any other idea?
Hi Ashley, I was wondering if you could help me with the same problem, my laptop should be able to handle it fine, it’s a Dell Inspiron 15R SE with 16 gig ram, i7 and a radeon HD 7000 series
thx, Ashley. I will try to upgrade my system asap.
Just for the records, I will give you two suggestions:
1) Please add an in-game message that say just that: “Your pc doesn’t meet the game requirements”. It will be nicer, friendlier, and more helpful than just a 0/0 KB.
2) Almost one whole month to get some tech feedback? Really?
Hey there,
Thanks for the suggestions! I think we’d rather leave it up for the players to decide for themselves whether or not they still wish to purchase and try the game anyway despite not meeting the minimum requirements rather than saying, “No, you cannot play.”
As for my presence on the boards – sorry it’s so late! Unfortunately sometimes posts can get drowned out by others especially if there’s a lot going on at the moment so I don’t always see every thread. Your best bet is usually to submit a technical support ticket if you wish to speak with us one on one. It definitely would not take us a month to get back to you.

err… The launcher freezes at 0/0 KB. You still can’t play. You are only presenting the same error in a nicer way.
Again, thx for your feedback and attention!
