Launcher having some problems
I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I still have not found a solution. This problem occurred while installing the latest update.
I got the same thing. Try leaving the launcher running for a while. Eventually it worked for me.
I had the same issue.
The fix for me, was to use a VPN to fetch the last file.
- Else I got “Error: Patch-verify failed for 0×00073b8b:0×00000000->0×001a0f96”
I had read in an older post that this was or could be a fix.
Hope this can help you out m8.
- EDIT **
Spelling error
I have the same problem 37 mb and still 1 file
Try using a different asset server:
Gw2.exe -assetsrv 64.25.41.2
(do not permanently use this specific IP)
If it still doesn’t work, delete %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat and try again. If it still doesn’t, you likely have something modifying your network traffic and it’s corrupting that specific file. It could be triggering an anti-virus for example, which would interrupt the download.

Nothing change same thing again… this is for anet mistake not us they need to fix update
I resolved problem by using a vpn and now able to start game. Trying assetsrv or deleting cache files also local.data file not worked.
I used vpn and now it works thanks
- Else I got “Error: Patch-verify failed for 0×00073b8b:0×00000000->0×001a0f96”
… you can try downloading that file through your browser, opening it with notepad and looking for any obvious signs of a problem. Some people have found their ISP injecting messages into their web traffic, which corrupts the patch. Adware, web filters, security software, and whatever else will do the same. Using a VPN ends up being the only solution since the traffic is encrypted and no longer over HTTP.
That specific file is:
http://assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com/program/101/1/0/1707926
… and is 1.88 MB (1,975,852 bytes).
For a quick comparison, open cmd.exe and run the following command, changing it to your own path:
certutil -hashfile "c:\users\%username%\downloads\1707926" SHA1
The hash (SHA1) should be:
31 4e 29 41 4d 65 a4 8f 45 32 50 1c 2f bf 3e 81 b8 af d3 87
You can also try it compressed:
http://assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com/program/101/1/0/1707926/compressed
507 KB (519,360 bytes)
64 59 ba a6 db 43 d9 0e d1 d8 ef 00 37 cd 6b 77 37 7b 2b 6d
With the suggestion of a player, I left the launcher open for a very long time. When I returned, the update was complete
I wrote to support but it still kittened, Im trying to connect from Istanbul. Funny thing is i was playing this game in the morning it happened in the evening so there was no major change in computer settings or router settings….
their answer here;
Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder. By default, this will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2.
Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
Right-click the shortcut and select “Properties.”
In the “Target” line, put whatever is currently there inside quotation marks, then add -assetsrv 174.35.71.9:80 at the end.
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 174.35.71.9:80
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe -assetsrv 174.35.71.9:80”
Click “Ok” to save your changes. If you get an error, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try Step 4 again.
Make sure Guild Wars 2 is not running.
Use the new shortcut to launch Guild Wars 2.
If that doesn’t work, try replacing the IP address above with one of the following:
194.25.94.170:80
62.154.232.187:80
151.249.90.199:80
93.188.135.37:80
Let me know if you need any help following these steps, or if this doesn’t fix things for you.
Regards,
I used vpn and now it works thanks

I was having the same problem (download stuck at 2 files since yesterday) and using a VPN also worked for me.
“You’re a bitter man," said Candide.
“That’s because I’ve lived in the dungeon forum,” said Martin.
