Guild Wars 2

Been happening for a few months and finally fed up with it. Basically, the launcher will download a patch, and at random intervals it will randomly crash. I have been patching for the past few months by repeatedly starting my launcher over and over until it finally finishes (since the download progress isn’t entirely lost after each crash).

I’ve tried just about every solution I could find outside of a 100% reinstall. I’m on Windows 8.1.

I’ve been having the same problem for about the same about of time I’ve been logging in changing the steaming option to max and just sitting at the charter select letting it download that way. it would be nice to see a fix that stops the client from crashing in the 10 Seconds or so it takes to login.

Next time you patch, start the launcher then press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open the task manager. Under processes, find Gw2.exe, right click it and select set affinity. Uncheck all CPUs except for 0. There have been similar cases (crashing/freezing every X files) where certain multi-core processors were the problem.
