Lets get this out of beta.
Yeah, the lag has been the worst part, it really messes up my gameplay. No more beta, please!
Just got some gems from some saved up power rewards. Anyways, cant open Winters day Presents and im now getting c0000094 error every time. Before that it said it couldnt connect to gw2 server. What the hell is going on?
Edit-Cant access currency exchange either.

I agree. an update of the Mac Beta would be nice, and there are a lot of people that play the mac beta so i would think it would be higher up on their to do list.

hype over.
Its not going to happen guys they would have replied by now, I’m beginning to think they don’t care, I know for a fact if I got an HD ATI 5770 for my Mac Pro 1.1 I can at least play the game on low to med. settings but being its in Mac Beta I’m not going to fork up 250 dollars only to get 5fps compare to 3fps now. Its sad really.
Im playing on a 2009 imac i7 with a hd4850 and the experience is flawless.
First of all, I just started playing the mac beta today, and I have had pretty much no problems at all. However, an update to the beta to make it more towards the actual game for mac would be awesome!
Leeric is addressing a very valid problem here that i’m also experiencing.

Me like you, i haven’t big problem! No error or somealse.
The bad thing i have notice is the low FPS and some Lag without sense.
I am trying to work out which part is Beta. Because GW2 mac is just GW2 windows client running inside Cedega. I am not sure why they haven’t gone the Cider route though, would of been able to have more exposure for the mac client.

It is Cider.
The only problem i have with this game on my mac pro 3,1 “2008”, 10gb ram, gtx 660 ti, fa-66 fire wire audio interface, wired xbox 360 controller is….. No sound in my right speaker.
Apart from the random lagging and overall lower fps, the beta is better than I expected
I haven’t noticed any crashes or unexpected errors, besides the massive heat that is under the keyboard. I have to use smcFanControl jacked up 6200rpm to keep the heat cooler. I have the setting on low. Slight lag issues.
Playing on Macbook pro 17’’ Oct 2011 late. 8gb mem. Video: HD 3000 & AMD Radeon HD 6770M 1024 MB graphics.
Yep sadly fps is a big issue in massive battles on WvW .
regardless whether its set to best performance or max spec i get the same results regarding fps.
When I bought this game I originally bought it to run on my Bootcamp Windows 7 side but when the Beta came out downloaded this version so I wouldn’t have to reboot to play. I have had no problems with the Beta client, no crashes, no errors etc. There are some minor differences that have, as of yet, not interfered with my gameplay. I have a 2011 iMAC quad core i5 with 1Gb of video ram and 12 Gb of regular ram. I have mostly everything set on high and my fps is around 40. So far the only differences I have seen between the Mac Beta client and the Windows version are these:
1. I can’t select Hi Res Character Textures because that is not a current option with the build of the Mac Beta. Supposedly to run the Mac Beta it actually runs some sort of converter that simulates a Windows environment in Mac OS Lion and that environment is 32 bit and does take advantage of Mac OS X 64 bit architecture. Even people who have PCs and only have a 32 bit operation system can’t select this
2. The frame rates are, on average, 20 fps lower than on the PC side
3. There is a lag when moving the camera around when you are near or facing water. If you are not this problem goes away.
Other than this the game was run flawlessly
That all said they do need to upgrade our game to a 64 system to allow us higher resolution and tweak it to run better with the graphics cards we have. It would be a great if they ever make a version that will run natively to Mac OS X but that it is a dream. It would be nice if it would stop being called a Beta
Happy New Year

Same here on a brand new (Summer 2012 cMBP).
Besides, wouldn’t taking it out of Beta mean it was complete? If there are issues, it obviously still needs more testing.
