tracert and my ping spikes when it hits level 3 dns and continues to show ping spikes all the way to the servers. Might want to look into it. No other game lags so I know it is GW2. Thanks. <3

Yup, WvW earlier last night, was getting 51ms pings.

Now, 138ms and 7% packetloss.

Do be aware; ArenaNet nor NCSoft really control which Tier 3 backbone provider your ISP chooses to use

You can try a VPN to, possibly, use a different route to the servers.

Good luck.

As Inculpatus stated, Anet doesn’t own, operate or control the tier 3 providers that your connection passes through. You ISP has a contract with them to provide service, they (your ISP) is the only one who can help you with it.

Even this isn’t necessarily true: sometimes they ISP and/or ANet have one or two other companies between them and level3 or whatever other backbone transit provider carries that traffic.

It’s a complex world out there, in the network.

I’ve had decent success sorting lag issues by contacting my ISP.
Granted, my ISP is small, so they’re easier to work with, but they solved it for me.

Edit: Also, when I had these lag issues, it was only on certain maps for some odd reason. By using pingplotter on the IP of the map, I could easily see which maps were a no go to play on (lots of packet loss to some maps).
