Guild Wars 2

I have just bought my guild wars 1 with all expansions thinking I could link it to my Guild wars 2 account. When creating my GW1 account I could not use my GW2 e-mail address so had to pick another. Now when I go to link accounts in the account management I cant input my GW1 e-mail address. This is very annoying as i bought GW1 to gain access to HOM.

I have access to HOM in gw2 but it isnt linked to my gw1 account so nothing shows up. I cant set the e-mail address fr my gw1 account to the same as gw2 as it says that my e-mail address is in use. Obviously for gw2. They wont link when I try to link them in account management and only shows my gw2 e-mail address. This is very frustrating as Ive went and bought the whole of gw1 thinking I could work on that to benefit my gw2 account.

Yah, you’ll probably need support to untangle it. Since they’ve had a sale recently, they have a lot of new accounts and people contacting them for help so they are swamped.

You know, you don’t have to wait for support to link the accounts to work on your Guild Wars 1 account. You can go ahead and progress there and whenever it’s linked, that progress will transfer to your hall of monuments here.

Thanks. I have been doing just that. Do i need to unlock HOM in guild wars 1 to link accounts? If so how do I do that?

No, you don’t need to unlock HoM to link the accounts together.

If you are doing all this and still having problems then it’s something support needs to help you with.

Side note: Unlocking HoM isn’t required to link the accounts, but you’ll need it to display stuff like minis and titles so you get the points for your GW2 account.

I have tried the link account option in account management but when I do that it does not give me an option to add my gw1 account details but says my gw1 and gw2 accounts are linked but they aren’t as I have not inputted my gw1 account details.

To find out is they are actually linked, log into your Guild Wars 1 account. If it is linked, the log in will now be the same as your Guild Wars 2 login. The link ties the two together and changes the Guild Wars 1 login to the Guild Wars 2 login.

If you try to log in and you have to use your original Guild Wars 1 login, then they are not linked.
