Guild Wars 2

Hey, so I just got a new tv/monitor and plugged it in, tried to play gw2 and it wont go pass the “play” when i hit play, the screen flashes black then normal a few times then nothing. Can anyone help me out? I had a 19’’ HP monitor now i own a 32’’ DYNEX tv screen hooked up through HDMI.

On a side note, i tried other games like WoW, Counter Strike, TL2, etc… all work fine, but of course the only game i want to play, doesn’t work. QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ

Assuming you changed nothing software/hardware except the display. It would be caused by an unsupported resolution. Tv’s are really picky about what res they allow. Depending on the age of the TV it’s probably 1366×768, or somewhere in that area. Hook back up to that old monitor. Change the res after game launch to your tv’s native. Then swap back.

I’m sure there is a way to force a res change for GW2 outside of the game. However I don’t know of one yet.

I just started having the same problem. When I plug into an old monitor with dvi the game will appear fine but when I unplug the dvi and plug in hdmi it will begin to flash (not allowing anything else to be done on the computer including using task manager). Switching back to dvi returns normal functionality. All resolutions are effected by this.
