downloading patch

Same problem. At first it started downloading, but going really slow. Then nothing just a connection error.

Just checked update seems to be downloading hopefully it finishes. By they way ANET feed the hamsters LMAO

Started working here now.. seems to be an aproxomatly 1GB large patch, so guessing it’s just cause of the server load atm with everyone trying to download it at the same time..

Same here. It was downloading the update and just stayed at 0% complete so i restarted and now i can’t even get it to start to log in. Just says connection errors.

You think that sucks… I got a new computer and the game client won’t load from the CD, so I’m stuck downloading the WHOLE THING through this mess. See y’all tomorrow morning!

hey guys just thought i would throw it out there i seem to be downloading the patch now not 100% perfect usually run about 1 mb/s running about 700kb

Just leave the client up and eventually you will get a good speed. I saw all the errors when I tried to patch but now I am at 2MB/s download.

downloaded 88mb and 10% in, so the patch must be around 880mb.

I highly doubt you experienced a rollback, but when server restarts events do too, so you will have to restart the event even if it was mid-way, that should be common knowledge the game can’t save the progress of every single event during a restart because it is quite literally refreshing the client.

Spend an hour+ doing 3 dungeon runs, earn 180 tokens, but piece of armour, get molten lodestones etc etc, game decides to boot out, log in, game rolled back like dungeon never happened…

If you manage to get to the downloading screen, even if it says 0% and remains there for some time, do not click out and try to restart. They update will start to download as soon as it can.

I waited a few minutes then mine started up. Best non-Dev advice I can give anyone.

ehm, you do not exactly PAY any subscription… And GW2 tech team is way better than most of “pay to play” MMOs… So be patient…

The update/patch is being delivered right now and is causing the issues you speak of. It’s a big one too!

Is this normal? I figured that this might have been because of the influx of new players and the corresponding strain on the servers. (Which would, admittedly, be pretty cool)

I was having the same problem for a while, but it went away on its own.

Too many people downloading both the updates and the entire game for the trials.

I dont think that is how the patcher works. It calculates the percentages based on the number of files downloaded not the size. Considering some files are smaller than others…

Ah ha! Got stuck on the “Connection failed…reattempting connection” bit for a while, but it’s working! If you’re having issues, just minimize the loader and let it go – letting mine sit there for a few minutes fixed it up.

I’m not kidding about what happened. My daily was near complete and then all of a sudden it wasn’t. I can’t get back in right now but I hope things have been restored once I do.

I really don’t mind random problems and i don’t mind waiting, but letting us see the patch notes would sweeten the waiting time…

Let us use the term ‘kittenton’ to describe the size of this patch.

It’s just the new build. Keep trying. everyones trying to download it at the same time.

I got same ‘’connection error’’ message. Kept it on this message and after a few minutes the patch started to download!! Enjoy!

I’m guessing this is caused by forcing everyone to patch at the same time by releasing a patch when the servers are busy, which is truly poor customer service on Anet’s part. I’ve never gotten this error before today. Let’s hope they don’t make a habit of this.

Let me spell it out for you. This happened to me before the patch delivery notification. I tried to travel from Frostgorge to the mists. The game bugged out and lost connection. I got back in to the game and had clearly lost progress then I got kicked out as the patch was incoming.

Also when it says, “attempting a new connexion” let it ride, it will prompt once it have place for download.
