I am already receiving emails about login attempts on my account from Tokyo. Please, PLEASE let us buy authenticators for our accounts. I can’t trust my account security to just my email, which has been hacked before, despite changing my password regularly. I don’t care what it costs, I’ll pay for it. I’ve been hearing how easily others have been hacked, and I have too much irreplaceable content on my account that I can’t afford to lose.

Why has there been no mention of this by the developers? Blizzard has authenticators for all of their games, even Runescape does. We NEED these and need them now.

i absolutely agree. i just got an email saying somebody from china tried to access my account. not cool. im gonna cut arenanet some slack, considering they just released and probably didnt have a massive budget like WoW or SWToR during developement, and assume that authenticators are at least in the works. either way, we desperately need them. id definitely pay for a physical authenticator, and having an ios/android/whatever app would be amazing. lets raise some noise, hopefully they do something about this sooner rather than later!

I, too had an attempt from China. The first thing I did was change my password to a randomly generated one. From what I remember hearing, they aren’t brute forcing, just using email/password combos they got from elsewhere. So, if i were you, I’d change your passwords asap/

How about a secret question or two before changing an account name/e-mail? I doubt that woulda broke the bank…

Oh good, it’s not just me… Yeah, I got the same email late yesterday – when I was actually in-game. This is the first time I’ve ever had an issue with any of my game accounts, so I can be a bit patient, but it definitely isn’t something I want to have to worry about.

Gotta say, even TOR had an authenticator option at release.

Granted this is because they cloned world of warcraft in every way conceivable and that happened to be part of that plan, but it’s still a pretty ingenious tool for account security. I’d really like a phone authenticator.
