Lost my in game items with deluxe edition
No, they cannot restore items that were lost for such a reason.
Thank you for the reply…However I have read around on-line that a lot of people have made the same mistake, and they got their items back as a one off.

I’m still waiting a response to my ticket, and can appreciate the time of year is the reason for no response. I am quite happy to wait, but I would feel better if ArenaNet can confirm in the meantime?

Yeah you’re gonna have problems trying to get them to sympathize and help you get items back. You can appeal and point out that you’re a new customer, and don’t want this bad experience to ruin it for you.

This happened to me too. I have submitted a request (ticket) for it. I am guilty of not reading the in-game mail carefully as well.

For the simple fact that he can.
He paid xxx amount of money for an item in-game. Yes, he made a mistake. Yes, he didn’t read properly. No, if Anet can’t reimburse him this item. Then he should just ask for a refund. Simple.

Ideally for the sake of customer satisfaction, even if Anet is not at fault here, it’d be better to just give the items back.

I never said Anet is at fault. like I said in my first post, I made a human error. I held my hands up and admitted that fact.
But the issue that people that made the same mistake got their items back so I knew it was possible. That was why I asked for help. Thankfully I got a nice email this morning advising that I got the items back which I have. As a new customer this did tarnish the experience at first, Now I feel a lot better and enjoying in game a lot more.
