Low FPS
sound like a cpu bottleneck. there is a difference between 60-70% usage total vs per core usage.
You have an 2500k. Why dont you overclock your cpu?
it should hit 4.5 Ghz on air
Character Model Quality: High
lower this setting should give slight more fps.
at source control it says my memory has 100 errors a second.
I am not sure what this statement mean. I guess run memtest on your memory to see if you need to RMA?

I have the exact same FPS issues as you described.
The thing is, before yesterday’s update my game was consisently hitting the 60 FPS cap in most areas and only deeped to 30 FPS at worse in large WvW fights and large events.
My settings were mostly at ultra, expect for shadows, postprocessing and character models limit/quality. However just like OP, my settings do not affect the performance anymore.
- Hardware-wise I did not touch anything.
- After the issue occurred, I tried to move the game file from my SSD to my HDD. Apart form making the loading screens longer it did not change anything.
- I also tried reverting my GPU drivers to the previous version, did not change a thing either.
- I do not remember seeing any update of my OS recently.
- Can’t tell if it has something to do with the update yesterday, but that’s the only thing that changed on my computer.
- My other games are running perfectly.
My specs are :
Intel i7 6700hq ; Nvidia GTX 1070 ; 16Gb of RAM ; Windows 10 64-bit
I’m having similar issues that have only surfaced recently.
I can barely hit 30 fps in LA now and places like the fractal lobby and WvW when nothing is going on are stuck around 35-45 fps. Normally it’d be a solid 60.
Even if I lower the settings to minimum or max everything out the fps barely budges.
This was never an issue in the past so I don’t know what the recent update did to the game but it seems to have screwed some of us over. Nothing has changed on my PC recently so I can’t imagine it’s anything on my end.
Update:
The drops in frame rate are coming from sporadic low GPU usage and possible CPU usage. When I start the game it’ll be at 40-45 % GPU usage and then drop to 25-30 % without anything in the scene changing causing large frame drops.
Specs:
I7 4970k ; Nvidia GTX 980 Ti ; 16 GB RAM ; Windows 10 64-bit

I have the same issue with extremly low FPS drop. It happend right after recent patch “07/11/2017 – July 11th Release Notes”.
I can’t get my FPS higher than 10 FPS, even when I stand alone. PC specs are really good. When doing ‘Autodetect’ in Graphic Settings it sets me mostly high values. But even when I choose ‘Best performence’ the FPS are the same 5-9 FPS…
Please give us a fix. For now the game is unable to play.
Same here as well. After the update I am running between 9-12 FPS and before that I was at stable 30-35 FPS. Nothing on the PC has changed in that period except the GW2 update. Here are my specs:
CPU: i7 6600U
RAM: 8gb DDR4
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 940MX
SSD: SanDisk SD8SNAT
Windows 10 64bit
I have the same problem was hitting the 60 fps mark easily and now I am at 15 fps, or lower, the game is unplayable.
I found a fix! I deleted my addons I had ARC DPS and when deleting it the FPS got back to normal.
Having the same problem after the recent patch 11/7/2017. Can’t get past 10 fps in WvW, was able to get 40-60fps before patch.
Edited: Arcdps is the culprit.

Deleting arcdps seems to have solved it for me! Thank you so much Swift!
Yep confirmed, arcdps is the culprit.
Any other fixes for this besides disabling addons? I only use Rainmeter WB timers, which I uninstalled completely. I also uninstalled and reinstalled GW2, updated my graphics drivers, and checked my internet speed (61mbps) – and I’m still getting anywhere from 5 to 20 FPS in LA, Divinity’s Reach, EotM and the WvW bl’s. Its pretty much unplayable pvp wise. I can do some random pve stuff, like gathering nodes and farming small packs of mobs, but it’s still choppy at times.
Specs:
i7 6700k @4Ghz
32 gb DDR4
MSI GTX 1080 8GB
GW2 is installed on a 256 gb samsung ssd
Running Windows 10 64bit
Core temp has cpu at 19 to 23 degrees
Ram is fine; I can play BDO, ESO, Diablo 3, Path of Exile and Marvel Heroes with no problems.
I usually get anywhere from 35 to 70 fps (Svanir Shaman wb never drops below 45)
Have Anet said anything about a patch for the fps drop issue?
Edit
I reformatted my pc and reinstalled Windows 10 and GW2. Even held off on installing my usual virus software (Kaspersky), and just had the bare minimum updated (drivers, windows updates). GW2 still doesn’t run any better after being completely patched, so this FPS issue is on Anet’s side. I’ll post again when things are running better.

Loseridoit, thanks for the tips, it helped. I always had pretty low FPS while my specs seemed OK for GW 2. Overclocking my CPU did help a bit.
And thank you Swift too, ARCdps had me really on an all time low FPS, removing it helped.

well, i was wrong. your main problem is ARCdps i guess.
Either way, it seems that anet have increase cpu requirement as they added new features. Oh well.
