Low FPS again
Double check your PCIe width to be sure it’s x16.
RIP City of Heroes
Checked. It wouldn’t have ran OK all this time if wasn’t.
it is you CPU
Set:
Character model limit : Lowest
I’ve set Character model limit to Lowest and not a single FPS increase happened.
I reaffirm: taking everything to low still runs on ~19 FPS. My CPU could handle it just OK last week, what has changed?
My CPU is running fine in all other games, even in CIV V with is very CPU demanding. Why am I getting these kittenty FPS out of the blue?
what about shadows ?
Just try to run it on lowest resolution…
GPU drivers – ?
AND try game with on lowest settings

It runs at low FPS with everything on lowest. Resolution change don’t take much effect either.
GPU drivers are up to date.
did you change your drivers?
what about network connection?
Try to OC your CPU…
No, I’ve changed nothing. Drivers are the same, network connection too.
OC my CPU? Come on…
Maybe can be your HDD…
How can I check if it is my HDD? It seems to be working just fine.
Ever since Friday 29/10 I lost 5 fps WITHOUT making any changes in the hardware or software of my PC.
I can also confirm at least 2 other guild members that also lost fps since Friday.

Yea but it was running OK and then not. PCIe bus width is just not a matter of electrical connection but the number of lanes are negotiated at every boot and occasionally gets assigned fewer than the max. Plus repeated thermal expansion and contraction can work a card out of being firmly placed in the slot and that may also affect the number of PCIe lanes assigned.
Run GPU-Z and see what the system thinks are the number of lanes assigned to the card. If it reads lower than 16 press the little ? next to the bus interface box and it will launch a little render program to see if the driver had reduced the number of lanes for desktop graphics Vs higher performance graphics.
Only think I can think of for such a huge shift in performance.

I’ve checked with GPU-Z, it’s 16.
Is this FPS drop related with some patch or something? Info, somebody?
type
my friend had PCI-E 2.0 x16@x1 2.0
wrong PCI-E!
PCI-E is correct when…
PCI-E 2.0 x16@ x16 2.0
then he switch PCI-E and no more problems
I have similar problems, already described in another thread over here
