This topic might be too specific to receive any answers but what the hell, I’m going to post it anyways.

My hardware:

  • i5 4670k @4.2Ghz
  • 2x GTX 770 no OC
  • SSD
  • Asrock extreme4 z87 motherboard
  • 8GB of 1866 RAM (Running @1866, XMP enabled :P)

I recently started playing around with anti aliasing modes forced through the Nvidia control panel/Inspector. Whenever I activate any anti aliasing mode other than the standard FXAA I get extreme stuttering in the equipment preview window or the hero window (which shows the equipment preview as well). The game runs fine with 16xQ CSAA + 4x SGSSAA and I can also play it with DSR @ 4K resolution (no AA then) without any issues as long as I stay away from zergs.
As soon as I activate even 2x MSAA though and open any equipment preview window, it gets laggy.

Any idea why?

Also, it seems that the AA isn’t working as it should in the preview window.

how updated are your Nvidia Drivers? Kinda sounds like the drivers might be at fault there.

Desktop: 4790k@4.6ghz-1.25v, AMD 295×2, 32GB 1866CL10 RAM, 850Evo 500GB SSD
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD

Changing Nvidia driver level settings in the Nvidia Control Panel can sometimes cause problems.

I recommend only using the in-game graphics settings.

Drivers are up to date.

The problem is that FXAA is completely horrible. I will use forced MSAA anyhow I just want to see if anyone has an explanation for this. I also have the problem with pixel offset creating a flickering line around the game but again it’s not so bad that I would use the native aa instead.
