Low FPS now
While this never happened before, Im getting massive FPS drops on med settings (30fps to 8fps) during moving my camera. Ive done reinstalling and installing graphic driver from older to newest one but still no avail. I did also unparked all my cores via regedit, clean the drive, defrag, updated all the driver but nothing seem to work. It all started when the patch on 1st september came in i think.
AMD APU A6-3400m (2.4ghz)
Mobility 6720G2
6GB ram
its not a powerful rig, but on med setting i can play smoothly most of the time (35fps++) on PVE, until this problem occured.
There are a couple possibilities:
1) ArenaNet has made many tweaks to the game engine to optimize performance since release. It is possible that one or more of these changes has had a negative impact in your case.
2) Something on your system has changed in the past year. I suggest reinstalling your operating system (if this isn’t too much trouble) to verify that the OS isn’t at fault.

Thanks for the reply God Of Fissures. I actually just installed a new hard drive thinking that is what it was. So I am running on a fresh install of Windows 7. I’ve also ran tests on all of my hardware and all checks out ok. So I’m guessing it is something on ArenaNets end, but who knows? I could be wrong. It would just be really nice to play again.
I have a Phenom II X4 (unlocked X3 @ 3.3Ghz), so your processor is likely not the problem (I play higher than 10 FPS most of the time).
Not too sure what the problem could be though. Maybe try setting Window’s Power Plan to High performance? Disable CnQ?
I tried setting the power plan to high performance, but didn’t help. Already had CnQ off. I dunno what else to do..Getting irritated.
Probably something ArenaNet did. They will be releasing another performance patch in the next couple weeks so just wait till then to see if that fixes it.

Well after installing that driver and changing the majority of the gw2 settings to low, I have been able to achieve 25-30 FPS in certain areas. I get 60+ when I go to the hall of monuments. lol not sure what else I can do..I will try playing with these settings for a while and see how it does.
You say 60+ FPS. That means that you have Vsync disabled otherwise you won’t get more than 60FPS. Try and enable the Vsync in the game with the with the frame limiter set to unlimited. It doesn’t sound like a fix, but for some reason the Vsync makes a big difference on the smoothness of the game.
See my Low FPS fix report.

Hi. I’ve tried everything else in your post previously. I just enabled vsync and for some reason my FPS went up to 40 in Queensdale..
Edit: Just went into Divinity Reach and it dropped to 15. Even in instances where I am alone I am getting 15 with or without vsync.

Vsync only makes a difference in smoothness when the FPS is at the refresh rate. If the FPS is below the refresh rate, stutter, jitter, and frame tearing can still occur.

Have you tried the latest drivers from AMD? They’ve launched a driver to help with micro stuttering. Driver version 13.8 and they just launched 13.10 Beta to. Give it a shot and try to overclock the card just a lil bit.
