Guild Wars 2

This is my first time posting here, so hello!

I never quite looked into it because it is still definitely playable but I can’t quite achieve the frames I would like (closer to 60). I only do sPvP/tPvP and my fps usually sits at around 25-40.
This is my rig:
FX-8320
8GB RAM 1600mhz
2GB Radeon 7870 XT with 13.3 drivers (beta I believe)
550w Corsair PSU

The settings are maxed @ 1920×1080 with native sampling. The fps can get down to 15-20 in the open world. Are these results normal? What are the best drivers for gw2?

In PVE areas the frame rate should be around 50-60 (vsync on). I got an FX-8350 myself.
In cities the usual drop to 30 fps on heavy times is normal as well.
I turned reflections to terrain and sky and it helped a lot. I leave Super Sampling on render samples and shadows on ultra. I have no performance change on render sampling (and it looks so much better with it!)
but yeah that fps actually sounds kinda normal to be honest. gw2 hates the AMDs

Use GPU-Z and verify that the card is in an x16 slot (Bus Interface, halfway down in the right column).

GW2 doesn’t hate AMD. Games that are more dependent on CPU than GPU hate AMD.

I have Civ 5, it runs fine on my AMD. :V

But that isn’t a game where I notice sub 30 fps.

When GW2 goes under 20 fps though…ugh

Didn’t say it wouldn’t run fine. I just said it wouldn’t run as fast as on an Intel.

Haha I definitely would have noticed that! I get 50-70 FPS in BF3 on Ultra + 4X MSAA.

I’m just used to 60fps+
