Low Fps ?!?!
This game is Unoptimized like hell realize a few things it is not your cpu/gpu anything of the above the game is coded poorly its also a 2012 game in Direct x 9 which is BEYOND kittened. it doesnt take advantage of multi core/thread cpus or balance them properly and Arenanet refuses to do anything even after it being a year now they just ignore the issue.

well that idea came in my head to !
but yeah i try looking my own kitten first ,, but im doubting over and over . thinking of buying a secong msi Gtx 660 To Run it Sli You know what im saying right . Cant stand 30 Fps !
want to play like i always did and always do . or else i can just play Ps3 or something
well put it this way im running a 3570k ivy bridge oc’ed to 4.5Ghz on liquid 16 gigs of ram 2 SSD’s hd’s in RAID 0 and a 6970 2 Gig and i hold 30-60fps usually but it should hold 60 almost everywhere and it dips to effin like 20 in LA which sure is busy but this game also micro stutters like a kitten its just unoptimized nothing you can do.
nice Rig
need kitten my self to Still busy building it up a small SSD dont wanna spend to much just for gaming , this will help me with those long loading Times ..
i hope if Gw2 is doing the Expension with a new code Build then ..
well what needs to happen first and foremost is the simple fact that the game was coded in Directx 9 which is stupidly old and outdated and they should have been coded in directx 10/11 to begin with that has alot to do with frame issues let alone the game is also unoptimized its crazy and they continue to ignore the issue its no wonder people are getting upset about it STILL.

Check ur GPU usuage.
A standard 660 i would think would struggle with ultra settings (im asuming u have Supersampling on aswell). If ur on native sampling then a 660 should be ok.
only advice i can give u is to turn reflections to Terrain and Sky ..or off completly, they are kinda bugged when on ‘all’ and will hit performance hard.
That said, even a rig like my own gets around 35-60 FPS in LA now with the culling of, and WvW can be anywhere from 25-60 depending on the size of the Zerg.
3200×1800 downsample resolution, all settings max except reflections (T&S) with Supersampling on. Culling settings at CharacterLimit Highest and texture limit Medium.
The game engine is the limiting factor. Granted ur using an AMD cpu which isnt helping (due to slower single thread performance vs Intel), but tht doesnt forgive the game engines poor performancein general.

Yup all you can do is lower shadows and reflections and the character limit. Even then 30fps or less will be the case on any hardware out in densely populated areas.

The micro stuttering is driving me nuts and is making me contemplate uninstalling. Not having any fix or solution is one thing but not having Anet even say a peep about the pathetic performance makes it worse.

Hello i have a problem with low Fps as well.
My rig isnt high end but its perfect for med settings.
when i do dungs or just open world stuff my fps is 40-45
when i go to LA 26-32 and WvW or Guild Missions i get 12-19 its unplayable.
I love guild wars to but the low fps is just killing me.
I use game booster, I use the nvidia settings the devs recommended. (its piwnd)
and still low it does not matter what settings i use med or low or super low still same fps.
Im thinking that am not the only one with this issue. I believe that it must be a priority for anet to fix it. I am willing to pay a fee to aid that optimization patch and i guess am not the only one. (imagine if 30% of the player base payed 5$ for a patch)
Correct me if am wrong but most games are GPU>CPU and guild wars is the other way around. so yeah..
I think the micro stuttering is due to the loading/creation of player models as they enter the “use actual model not placeholder” range based on the culling settings. I interpret the two culling settings as number shown Vs just nameplate and actual Vs placeholder.
In DR going back and forth between the merchant/vendor by the bank and the TP after a portal event I constantly see placeholder avatars that in a few seconds turn into the actual avatars and when I run back to where I started the player avatars that were actual are now placeholders for a few seconds before becoming actual again. Not a problem during a portal event since there are a lot fewer players there so everyone holds onto their actual avatar as I run back and forth.
