Guild Wars 2

I have played Gw2 since release on max settings with no problems, and I log on tonight and the game barely runs on all low settings. I use to have a frame rate of 40-50 on max settings and now I have a frame rate of 1-5 on low settings.
What happened over night?

I have Windows 7
8gb ram
AMD phenom II X4 2.60 GHz
Geforce GTS 450

been told first thing to try is delete the local.dat or some such and let the game recreate it, and im going to warn you now, you will be getting crap for using a low clocked amd cpu, dont be shocked when people start telling you amd cant game.

Well the best cpu of amd can handle it pretty good. I’ve the FX-8350 too here and it runs the game like a Porsche.
But i see again a geforce having problems :P

Of course he having trouble with his Geforce card. He has a 450. This is more of a media card than a gamin one.

Try upgrade ya cpu and gpu. Unfortunately you’ll have to stay with AMD as your motherboard wont take a Intel chip. Then you really need a better GPU. I’d go with a 560 if ya tight for cash. The 660ti should throw this game around no problem.

7870 1536 shaders would be the better choice price to perf then a 560 or 660 series card.

we also dont know what motherboard is in his system or if its am3 or am3+….

if he wants to give us that info, we could suggest cpu upgrades….also need to know what psu is in the system since many OEM systems psu wont handle anything higher then a 7770 class card.
