I recently reinstalled the whole game due to the launcher not responding after pressing the play button after the latest patch.
Now when I get ingame my character has blurry low res textures, It doesnt matter if i put the texture setting to low/med/high, its still blurry. I’ve updated drivers to 12.8 latest version.
radeon 5870 hd 1gig
i7 3ghz
asus rampage 2 mb
6gig ram

Im not sure if you get this effect regardless but the option does require you to zone out first before it can take affect after changing it.

Outside of all the drop down boxes, did you select “use hi res character textures” checkbox at the bottom? There’s I believe two different check boxes for textures.

It is the thickbox on the bottom left that i meant. If you thick or unthick that it requires you to zone first before it becomes effective.

Are both your GPUs in CCC set to Default? Maybe there is a profile or setting set to overwrite game settings?

Do you, by chance, have it set to the subsample rendering method?

I have the same issue as the OP, actually. It would be nice to hear word on it. No matter how I change the settings, it’s still like that, while the rest of the graphics change as expected.

RadeonPro has a setting for Texture LOD, that if set to highest (3), will basically make most/all textures blurry. Setting it to 0 is default, and -3 is sharpest.
Don’t know if anyone has messed with RP, but if you have, that setting might be worth looking at to see if you may of accidentally set it. Otherwise, perhaps even getting RP and setting this option to 0 or -3 might help.

I had a very similar issue. Fixed mine by adjusting the mipmap detail level in CCC.

How did you change it!? I have the same problem and it looks like I might have the same solution, but can you be a little more specific?

Okay I think I fixed it. I went into my AMD control centre by right clicking my desktop and selected the “gaming tab”. From there I didn’t change anything except the tesselation mode, which I switched from AMD optimized to “use application settings” and already I saw a huge improvement in quality. Hope this helps anyone else.

Several others have had this issue with the 5xxx series Radeon cards.
If you are still experiencing this issue of subsample armor textures on your character, please look over my response here and the related threads I linked there as well where I have helped others to resolve the issue.
