Guild Wars 2

A few days ago my launcher stopped working, the login dialog no longer appears. GW2 appears in the Activity Monitor though. My system.log file has the following info about it, any suggestions?

The same thing happened to me about 2 days ago (I’m also on mac). I tried to re-download the client but it got to about 92-94% and stopped appearing.

Have you had any luck finding a solution as of yet?

I tried Disk Utilities → Repair Disk Permissions, but no luck:

me too , i think OS X 10.10.4 (14E26a) , beta update channel is to blame ?

Not sure but I’m still on 10.9.5, never upgraded to Yosemite, still on Mavericks.

“delete the contents of the gw2 data folder, it’s a pain to get to the right one: this step is a general fix for many tp and graphics issues, even without the previous steps however, it will lose all saved log in/password and in-game settings.
To access this:
1 Click on the “Finder” icon located in your dock or the desktop of your computer to make “Finder” the active program in the finder menu bar.
2 Hold down the “Option” key on your keyboard while clicking “Go” in the finder menu bar. A drop-down will appear.
3 While still holding down the “Option” key, click on “Library” in the “Go” drop-down.
4 Once in the Library folder click on Application Support > Guild Wars 2
5 Move the entire Guild Wars 2 folder to the trash and then empty the trash.
The next time you launch Guild Wars 2 it will recreate the recently deleted folder.”

Thanks Foxx, had high hopes, tried it, but still same problem.

Pretty sure the problem is with fPermittedFrontApps, SecurityAgent, and SetFrontApplication. It just sounds like something is causing SecurityAgent to prevent the app from fully loading. Trying to dig around the internet and understand how SecurityAgent works.

i had the same problem yesterday but today i finally opened the launcher and now it’s downloading the game … i have downloaded 10 gigs but it’s only 25% of the game :|
how much is the game size guys ? :O

The percentage is for the amount of FILES not the amount of MB or GB. The game is around 20-25GB in total, but you will probably have to download more than that (because of patches etc).

Actually I take that back, it works now, seems it just took a while for the launcher window to open the first time after deleting the folder. Woke up this morning to find it downloading the game. Thanks Foxx!
