Here’s what I’m using:

Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

Few performance issues I’ve encoutnered.

1. Black Lion Trading: sometimes does not load in Mac Beta.

2. LAG. This issue seems to be the worst. Consistently the game will have LAG where my character “stops” for ~5 seconds. This is a consistent issue. When I bootcamp into Windows I do not have this issue.

3. Map zoom is “laggy” as well. When I open the map and try to zoom in or out it takes about 3-5 seconds for the map to start zooming.

A Nice Addition:

Need an option in the Menu to have Functions keys to work as Function keys. On Macbook Pro’s you have to shut down the function keys in System Preferences in order to use them.

Applications cannot change the way the Operating System interprets keys. It is impossible for them to override the native Function key commands, so yes you have to manually switch them off yourself.

I personally don’t experience any map lag or movement lag so I am wondering if it is because you’re playing at max resolution on a retina display? Try lowering the resolution and seeing if the map and movement lag go away.

Thanks for the advice! I was running on full retina. I’ll try it other wise. The issue I was having with the map could have also stemmed from retina resolution.

Retina resolution is too much for this game, so hopefully that fixes that.

Everyone gets lag at some point though, some experience it worse than others for unknown reasons as of yet.

For tp not loading, that is universal! Trust me. Quick fix here:

1. Open your trading post (leave this open until finished)
2. Open your options panel
3. Change the language to French
4. Wait for the trading post to reload in French
5. Change the language back to English (anglais)
6. Test trading post

This will introduce a gamma bug, simply move the slider around, it will fix. (waiting on word from Luis about this)

As for Function keys, you can either have them set using them as standard F1-F12 keys or use the Fn key to use them. It doesn’t remove full functionality on the MBPr. Easy easy! I believe this is under keyboard settings, but I can’t remember and can’t check now.

The lag issue isn’t resolved. It’s not constant, but once every so often I hit a lag spike. Doesn’t do it when I bootcamp so it’s something within the Mac Beta.

What does your memory usage look like while playing?

I used to get lag spikes, but it was due to my os not relinquishing unused memory, so I’d be left with very little. (I can see you have 16gb, but you never know)

Keep in mind, the Mac client is a wrapper and requires nearly twice the specs the pc client needs, so yeah, you’re going to get better performance from the pc client. The Mac client is fairly good considering it hasn’t been a priority at all.
