Guild Wars 2

So I’m not the only Mac based player having this issue. But my client is essentially dead to me. It loads up and gets stuck at the pre-login screen. Nothing from what I’ve read seems to fix it. I attached a screen shot of what I get.

I’m hoping AreaNet is working on this, they tend to be trustworthy when it comes to getting things in order for their games.

My Mac client hasn’t been working! what is going on? Any1 have an idea how to fix this? I click on the Guild Wars 2 icon and nothing happens

Have you deleted the GW2 Application Support folder?

its not a platform wide problem so i dont know if they are fixing anything because plenty of mac players play just fine but jst try a fresh install or something

I just got the launcher to start working. I haven’t been on in awhile so it’s patching now, so I don’t know if I’ll have any more issues. BUT at least now it’s patching.

Can someone please give me some instructions on how to fix this please?

reboot can help sometimes (or type “killall cider” in a terminal)

The exact thing happened to me—I restarted my computer and it’s working fine now.

Alternatively, you guys can simply open a Terminal and type “purge”, no quotes, on the command line. That’s it, just purge, you don’t have to understand command lines for this. This could save you a reboot.

To open a Terminal press ? + spacebar and type: Terminal.
Then simply type: purge

If you want to know what purge does, simply type: man purge.
