Q:

Hi,
Yesterday i was playing fine. Logged on about an hour ago. Let GW2 update then i clicked play, the screen darkened a little, and the curser is like its in game (only when inside the window that is created(which is not full screen)). And then it stayed that way.
Any information?

Updates on iOS up to date, game 100% updated.
MacBook Pro 13" i5, 4gb intel 3000 hd.

I use a mac with similar specs and am having the same issue. This was after attempting to start it up following the 12.21.12 update. I was playing without problems just prior to the update.

I just bought the game about 15 minutes ago, just finished installing and got a chance to start playing….but after it updated it went to a screen that had a load bar at the bottom, it said 100% on left and a small check box on right and a sweet graphic. I check the box, wait, and finally a window pops up that says: “S_initiallized A serious error has occured that prevented the application from continuing. A report has been sent to ArenaNet…”
Any help or advise would be much appreciated.
Same specs….in the process of updating IOS

Dark Knight: I have been having the black screen issue as well (I bought the game two days ago) and all the information I have seen on how to fix it is before the Mac Beta was released…this is frustrating and silly…

I bought the game with my friend yesterday and after the update he can’t play on Mac OS. I am on windows and it works fine. this is an epic fail for guildwars two. not a good start to the game.

I got exactly the same problem.
Was playing fine since the last update.
Now it seems like the game launch but without a good resolution. So I’m just stuck with my mouse and I know I’m in the game because the cursor change if it pass through an object.
I think it can be fixed by changing the resolution somewhere but where?
Or maybe it’s something else,
dunno…

Ok here’s a solution for you guys.
Go to your finder,
“Go” to your library (it’s normally hidden, push alt to make it appear)
Find the “Application Support” folder,
inside find the “Guild wars 2” folder,
then move it to the desktop.

Now launch Guild wars 2,
it’ll normally create a new folder and work perfectly fine.
