[Mac] Resolutions missing in Windowed mode.

I’ve been playing at 1920×1080 on a 1920×1200 monitor ever since I got the game.
A couple days ago, I switched post-processing to “high” from “none” so that I could see that old-timey effect for the aviator cap, and that removed all the resolutions above “Windowed – 1600×1000” from the list. I can still pick 1600×1200, 1920×1080, or 1920×1200 for Full Screen Mode, but not for Windowed Mode.

I’ve already:
Relogged
Relaunched GW2
Reinstalled GW2
Reinstalled the OS (got a new HD)

Any ideas?

I would try deleting the Guild Wars 2 folder inside the Application Support folder (there are instructions on how to do this in the Mac sticky if you aren’t sure). That should hopefully force the game to rebuild the list of resolutions.

Is this an external monitor or a built in monitor? If it’s external then you could always try running the game with it unplugged (if you’re on a macbook), or switch monitors if that is something you can do.

Deleting “~/Library/Application Support/Guild Wars 2” didn’t help.

I switched the Menu Bar to a different monitor (1920×1080) in the System Preferences and tried playing the game on that screen; the only difference is that now Windowed Mode tops out at 1600×900 instead of 1600×1000.
Is that close enough to your suggestion, or should I actually unplug my main screen?

I would try unplugging the main screen and running the game (if thats possible to do).

Oh, weird! I’m back on my 1920×1200 monitor, but it still only lets Windowed Mode go up to 1600×900 like it did when I was on a 1920×1080 monitor. It used to give me 1600×1000 on this screen.

I’ve found a work-around, though. If I set the resolution to Full Screen – 1920×1080, then go to the character selection screen (and only that screen), I can click that little window button next to the X in the upper right-hand corner, and that puts it into Windowed Mode at 1920×1080. The graphics settings window says that it’s running at Full Screen – 1024×640, but it’s wrong.

Just wondering, what kind/brand of monitors are you using and what kind of mac do you have? If you open the system preferences app in OSX what does that specify your resolution as? And what resolutions does it give you the option of changing to?

Long long shot, if you use the minimise button on the character select screen, will it let you grab the edges of the GW2 screen and manually resize them (it isn’t supposed to, but it’s worth checking).

System Preferences gives me the full list of resolutions.

2008 Mac Pro (3,1)
EVGA 760:
2x Acer (I forget the model) @ 1920×1080
1x Samsung SyncMaster T260HD @ 1920×1200
“Apple” GT120:
1x Cornea CT1702 @ 1280×1024

I just confirmed that manually resizing the window doesn’t work on the Mac version. I really wish it did, though, because then I could run very very ultra widescreen :-D (probably with a negative frame rate, though… It’s quite frustrating to be getting 15-20 FPS with your CPU and video card both sitting at > 50% idle, but that’s a different thread).

Well nuts… I swapped my main monitor for one that’s the same resolution (1920×1200) and is VESA-mount compatible, and now I can’t even pick Fullscreen 1920×1080 so my work-around doesn’t work anymore. Anyone have any ideas?
