Just to let people know, I’ve got the game running at around 20fps in PVE on a mid 2009 MacBook. Much better than on my PC laptop in fact.
That’s with everything set to low except shadows on high, best texture filtering on and native resolution. Runs quite well, looks great, so if you were unsure if your system would run it it’s well worth giving it a go.

i’m not trying to be a “know-it-all” or anything but try turning shadows down to med or low and you might be able to bump other graphics settings up. in my experience shadows are the most graphically demanding setting.

Which of the MBP do you have and what are its specs?

Why oh why do people ever leave shadows on? It’s the VERY LAST thing you want to bump up, since it’s nearly universally a framerate killer.

Thanks for the responses there. Switching the shadows on has caused a drop of 1fps average so I figured that was an ok sacrifice for the game to look nicer.
It’s also not an MBP, it’s a white mid 2009 13" MacBook. 2.13ghz core duo, 4 gb ram and noviciate GeForce 9400m 256mb running mountain lion (OSX 10.8.1
