Macintosh OS 10.2.2 and GuildWars 2
Mine won’t launch, either. It “launches,” but the launcher window doesn’t appear.
Hi Toz.
It’s the same on my end. It “launches”, but no window for connecting. Let’s hope they figure this out soon. ;-)

Hi,
I am having the same problem.
My guess is that the new Yosemite update is ruining the cider port. I think they need to modify it a little.
Hope they can see this.
The launcher finally popped up for me after leaving the process open for a few hours.
For a number of reasons, I was running 10.10.2 for a while without any issue. It seems that today’s GW update did trigger something though. Black login window (though the cursor updates when on top of where the Login button or web links would be – clicking does nothing). I heard other reports that if left alone, it ends up working. So I’m now waiting…
Edit: I have another machine running an older version of the OS and it works after the update. Really looks like a combination of both the update of GW and the OS… I didn’t have the issue yesterday, already running the OS update, but I do have it today, after the GW update… But the same GW update works on an older OS… !@$!@$%^&%&^#
Edit2: Even after waiting several hours, still black screen. I will reinstall the entire thing today to see if that helps…
Edit3: A clean install of GW2 on a 3rd machine, running a higher version of the OS X (higher than 10.10.2, but I can’t specify it here) is working. My usual machine is still stuck on a black screen after several hours, using currently over 195% of the CPUs over 3 processes… While I’m personally unstuck pretty sure that not everyone can check on 4 different machines running 4 different OS versions…

I can log in from the launcher, but when I click “Play” I get a blank grey screen. The mouse cursor changes so there’s obviously something going on in the background, but even after a good few minutes of waiting the game itself doesn’t show up.
fellow mac users, try this solution.
I would like for you to delete the Guild Wars 2 folder located within your users Library folder. You can do this by following the instructions below:
Click on the “Finder” icon located in your dock or the desktop of your computer.
Hold down the “Option” key on your keyboard while clicking “Go” in the Finder menu bar. A dropdown will appear.
While still holding down the “Option” key, click on “Library” in the “Go” dropdown.
Once in the Library folder, open “Application Support” and locate the Guild Wars 2 folder.
Move the entire Guild Wars 2 folder to the trash and then empty the trash.
NOTE – If you are unable to locate this folder, it is possible you are looking in the incorrect “Library” folder. As your system has multiple “Library” folders, please try the steps again to locate the proper folder.
The next time you launch Guild Wars 2 it will create a new version of the folder that you deleted. Please try this and see if it resolves your issue.
I did this and my client works now. yay!
I tried the thing you said. it didn’t help. GW2 still didn’t pop up after opening. it is stuck at the dock and needs force quit to close too.

update, it finally poped up with Gannicus
method. But the download speed is zero now.
Still no luck on that one machine I normally use for GW (and the only one running an up-to-date OS and not either an old OS or an unreleased version). I do have the launcher but it’s just plain black. I’ve trashed the entire application, application support, prefs, etc… and reinstalled from scratch with still the same issue: A black window, with the cursor changing where I’d expect fields, buttons and URLs though clicking doesn’t trigger anything… Since I deleted everything, I will keep that window for a while (I guess it is downloading stuff at the moment – seeing than the app itself is growing in disk space) but this is quite frustrating really…
I had the black login screen on a brand new MBP. I eventually got it to work:
1. I removed the application
2. I removed the Guild Wars 2 folder from ~/Library/Application Support
3. Installed all updates to Yosemite
4. Rebooted
5. Reinstalled the client
