I have a 27" iMac with Magic Mouse – downloaded Mac beta client and played the game several time successfully. Now, when I log in, I am unable to control my character unless I use the keyboard alone – I can use the mouse to adjust the camera position (with gestures enabled since the Magic Mouse has no scroll wheel), but as soon as I try to click the mouse button and move, the camera rotates wildly 360 degrees. I find my character either looking up into the sky or down at her feet. It’s impossible to play this way and I’m not adept at using the keyboard alone for movement; I’ve always used a combination of the mouse and keyboard. I’ve tried adjusting several settings in the Options panel…Is this a bug or does anyone know a fix?

Have you checked out this post: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/mac/Known-Issues-Guild-Wars-2-Mac-Beta-Client

I wonder if you are starting the game from the window left on the screen after you shut down a previous session. This can play havoc with the camera. It was a nightmare to me when I first started this game (along with the controls) until I read about that.

I use a normal mouse but I have adapted to the keyboard so well that I find it difficult to steer with the mouse, contrary beast that I am

I did see that post, but I don’t think that’s the problem since I always exit to the desktop, never to the launcher. I tried everything from switching mice to rebooting my Mac, always exiting completely out of the launcher. Funny thing is, when I log in on my Macbook, I don’t have this problem. It’s only on my iMac. I guess I will have to learn to move using the keyboard only.

Correction: it is now happening on my Macbook as well. I think it has something to do with another issue – the TgUpdate always opening every time I try to launch the game. I tried to follow someone’s instructions for a solution (there’s a thread in here devoted to it), but I ended up having to reinstall the game client completely. Sorry, I’m relatively new to Mac and I’m not familiar yet with how to do a lot of things.

I am having the same problems on my Macbook Pro w/ Retina. The updater installs every time I launch the client, and my screen spins wildly any time I try to pan using either the magic mouse or trackpad.

There is another thread regarding the tgUpdater issue, but I can’t get anyone to answer as to how to fix the issue. I’ve reinstalled the game twice and initially it works fine, but as soon as I quit the game, the next time I log in I get the tgUpdate version 1.11, and the spinning begins. The two issues are clearly related, but I don’t know why or how to fix it. :-(
