Mail question
It certainly sounds suspicious, so if you did, you should probably not be surprised.
No need for dev’s to respond (and its actually not allowed to ask for a dev response, so that is breaking the rules
).
The answer is obvious. NO
There are some actions that are illegal in the game. The one that has to with your question is that off selling ingame items (fortune) for real life money. So sending or recieving large amounts of gold ingame is something suspicious and automated systems might mark your account for review. This doesn’t have any consequences and you won’t notice a thing. It will mean that a GM will review your actions. Only after a GM has done that and found in his judgement that you where involved with real money transfers, he will suspend you.
To avoid detection there is a very bad urban myth saying that you should use a guildbank. This is wrong!. If this would work, then the bad people would use it, and so it would only raise more questions bout your behaviour. So don’t try to avoid the automated detection, but make sure you help the GM a lil bit. For example, if you are hosting a guild lottery, let people sending you gold type the word guild lottery. also have a guild lottery reply you copy paste. Just make sure that your intetions are visable in the communcation when tranferring the money and all should be fine.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
