Guild Wars 2

I’m reproducing the ticket I sent for all explanations:

“Hi,

I bought a new PC in preparation for the new expansion to come. I run GW2 pretty smoothly and without any issue. OS Windows 10 64bits.
Yet, since 3-4 days, I’m not able to play anymore.

First, I was able to reach the game, and after a few moment, or when I entered personal story mode or fractals, I was disconnected.
Then, I was only able to reach the character selection screen, selecting a character, and then being blocked on the loading screen.
Now, when i Launch the game, I’m stuck on the first page with a message saying that connexion errors were found, new tentative of logging…

Since my first issues, I followed all the instructions on the assistance page : I authorised the game on my firewall, I stopped my firewall, I stopped my antivirus, I re downloaded the game, I admitted a static IP adresse with the 80, 443, 6612, 6600 ports allowed on my computer and authorised in the firewall, I launched the game on Windows 8 compatibility mode, I have had my Nvidia Drivers updated (GTX 1050M) and then downgraded to the version at the time when the game was running.

Henceforth, I tried the -repair line on a copy of the Gw2.exe file. When I launch the repair, my computer is totally freezing, and I must force exit it – did that like 4/5 times. Same thing now as I want to run the game.
I don’t want to ruin my new computer only because of this game.

I know the issue doesn’t come from the firewall or from my internet connexion: I run the game on my Mac Book Pro mid 2012 without a single connexion error.

To sum up, under windows 10 I have 0 ping and can’t have access to the game; under my Mac, the game run smoothly (not the graphics, but that’s OK).

If you have a GTX 1050M, it sounds like you are on a laptop. Check to make sure that Nvidia isn’t trying to use the onboard graphics card. That can cause a lot of problems for gaming.

Intel Core 5-7300HQ, 2.5GHz
8 Go RAM
NVidia 1050M 2Go dedicated
Windows 10 64bits

And to your question, yes, the GTX1050M is running for the game…

I just can’t explain the 0 ping I have – as the game can download without any issue – and as I can play other MMO games without any issue.

just reading your post have you allowed your anti virus fire wall to let the game run ? in other word gave it permission in your anti virus ? as I see you let windows fire wall say it was safe to run the game . BUT did you set it in windows fire wall both ways inbound and out bound too ??? and set it for ivp6 ????

I’ve just set the firewall for the outbound traffic, that wasn’t done.

For IPv6, I don’t know how to do it! Do I have to setup the authorization on the same menu (inbound/outbound) ? In such a case, where can I chose IPv6?

\0/ yay glad that worked for you now you go back to windows fire wall and from their you look for the guild wars 2 client again click on it and bring up the property’s list . and then you see all the tabs . you click on the protocols tab and then just select ipv6 . and you should be all good hope this helps you

I have multiple Guild Wars 2 client servor on the list – previous one I think, due to my multiple installation of the game: one was settled on UDP protocol.

I’ll try if everything is fine once the game fully downloaded

Yet, while I try to enter into my story mode, it indications : “STATE_SERVER_WAIT” and my Ping is back to zero directly on the loading screen!

when the game says STATE_SERVER_WAIT . are you using launch buddy for guild wars2 ???

if so go to your antivirus program and put it into the list of trusted apps . and see how that works after that .

as that is the only thing I can think of that will fix that problem for you . and I know that with gw2 launch buddy will give you that message until you put it into the ok or trusted apps list.
